I was introduced to the substance known as “poutine” recently, which shares a common base with chili fries. It was not a pleasant experience.

Major disagree. I get chili and cheese fries from the Hot Dog Shoppe here in the Burgh and they are delicious.

I had Chili’s once when I went to Long Beach, CA for vacation. I mistook it for Applebee’s because I thought the two brands are similar in layout and marketing. But Chili’s fries are actually good.

When I was a kid I got chili fries with awful grainy chili with super over ripe tomatos and soggy fries. Probably why I cannot stomach them today. Now poutine? I can eat that all day every day.
