There wouldn’t be all this legal stuff if they didn’t have an issue in the company.
Working to fix it isn’t a bad thing

In 2000 I experienced the exact opposite. Women I worked with were allowed to go home early to take care of their kids, I had to apply for FMLA to leave on time and take my kids to a psych after their mom up and moved 1k miles away. They needed me for OT and I couldn’t leave - I was told to get a girlfriend to watch my kids.

Yeah it’s things like this why I am vocal about some of this stuff because most of the people who get these positions tell me about my privilege or how I could never understand what it’s like to be something they don’t know I have been.

Until we stop putting labels on things and only going in one direction, even more people will get hurt. What happened to me before was ignored because I didn’t matter. The "new’ wokeness will still ignore me because I still don’t matter.

Sadly, I don’t fit in either the old peoples or the new peoples boxes…

Just stop. You are being an obtuse troll at this point.

Sometimes not having special privileges feels like an attack. It is hard for some people to admit they were getting a lot of benefits and that the process to be fair means those benefits are taken away. No more frat boy hiring culture. No more promotion based on friends. No more ogling the women and harassing them. No more making them do the work while the guy games and drinks company beer.

Yeah im more on about how in the company I joined, we went from having a team of 40% male, 60% female, I am now in a team of 95% females.

And the person incharge of the team keeps going on about how proud they are to lead an inclusive team with so many women.

Its not inclusive. Its sexist.

But when people are annoyed at this stuff, you say stuff about not being allowed to ogle and harass women.

I’m a gay man. Never did that, never wanted to.
But you still speak of privilege I had and am losing.

No im sorry but its wrong and bigoted

Hmm… are you sure it wasn’t, though?

Ignore me then. I rather not jump into the abyss of wokeism and pretend it’s all roses.

Parental rights and benefits at work is something the “new wokeness” as you put it is fighting for. One of the big things is Paternal leave for birth/adoption, child care, etc. This is also being expanded to family care overall (spouse, aging parents, etc.). Flex schedules benefit everyone both in the workplace and in society overall.

If your workplace is not offering those things, consider advocating for them.

Hiring based on qualifications instead of race, gender, religion, friends, family, school, etc is not “woke”. It is FAIR.

TIL “woke” = being a decent human with fair hiring practices. If you are advocating against that, consider why.

Again, most of the people I see using “woke” are angry they have to compete now with others on a fair playing surface and won’t get special treatment that they got for generations.

So even another box I can check most men never will:

I did hospice for my dad as he died of cancer since was a WFH before it was fashionable.

Right now I am somewhat old and sick and I take care of my disabled son - I work about 15 hours a week now. Let me correct that, my son and I take care of each other - we have different strengths.

Regardless of what people say they are for, they rarely are truly for IRL. No one accepts a man who takes care of his kids - men need to work and make money. I have spent a lifetime of trying to provide and be dad and saw the results with other people - even people who bragged how great they thought it was…

Yeah. As long as it’s based on those merits and not on your plumbing, color, political leanings, you would have a point. Problem is, even if this was a real hire, it seems phony because of Blizzard’s track record.

WHAT THE HELL DOES SHE HAS TO DO WITH WOW GETTING BETTER AS A GAME? DOES SHE PVP? Unreal… Sorry somebody has to say this. Are even half the current people at Blizzard’s 16 buildings where they supposed to be?

Sadly, most of the people I have seen in support of “woke” have had special treatment I wish I could have had.

I had a step son and his friend who tried to tell me how privileged I was because I started in a trade to make money doing nasty filthy work. They only got full ride scholarships a large part of which was due to race. They would never do the things I had to do in order to make money, they were too good for that but I got “special treatment”.

ITT: People only view a DIE officer as a thing for hiring practices; rather than being an internal officer to change work culture to become more equal and inclusive.

This literally has nothing to do with the game, but more the company.

They are being sued because that is exactly how they were hiring. Birds of a feather who flocked together.

It is a real hire. Period. It is needed because obviously Blizzard could not figure out how to be fair on their own and are under a pile of lawsuits.

Good point. Yes, the idea is to ensure all aspects of the company are fair and inclusive, not just hiring. That means the space for lactation and storage without harassment, respect for various cultures and backgrounds, etc.

Seems pointless to me, but if 10.0 doesn’t suck then cool?

I don’t care for diversity quotas.
