Is chess in Karazhan nerfed? I feel like I got through it without doing anything…

Can we please get a skip for the chess event in the Karazhan raid already? Its annoying to solo and I can’t finish some BC tier sets if I can’t even get to Malchezar

i just did it and lost my bishop was standing there for 3 globals as i died, seems nerfed a tad. like bishop 10%-100% me 4-5 times but i suck still apparently
I’m NOT trying to be toxic or to say who is and isn’t able of soloing the Chess Event, but several years ago, I had a friend complain that it was impossible, that Blizzard had made it so we couldn’t solo, etc, etc.
So I made a video on youtube called “Karazhan Chess Event Solo (March 23, 2018)”. Search that exact title (it’s my name in the channel) if you want to try my strat. It ALWAYS worked for me, and only a couple times I had to do a second attempt… and I done it dozens of times.
It’s horde side, but I guess you can simply do the same on Alliance (maybe bloodlust is something else, I never tried the human king).
The interface addon I used at the time may be slightly confusing, but the only thing I was doing there was hitting the button to exit the piece that the game puts in our action bar (not the leave vehicle button from some addons), running back, waiting the short CD, entering another piece, etc, etc.

It definitely feels easier than it used to be years back, but still tedious to sit through.
Move the pawn from in front of your King so that you have an escape if the board is lit on fire, and then just sit as the king and spam Cleave/Bloodlust. Can move the pawn by the Bishop too for the extra safety net to keep your healer alive.
I did this recently for a nostalgia world tour, I just stood in the middle of the board as the king and spammed buttons as they lit up. Was never really in danger.
Definitely nerfed.

Yeah, I always exit the king, using that button, and switch to a healer for the first half of the fight, and then switch to a DPS, or back to the king, once the other team’s healers are down.

I start by moving the king and queen pawns up a step so that I can then move those two pieces out of any fires that get started and after that it’s pretty much just a choice between sniping the other side’s healers or picking off pieces as they advance out of range of them.

Probably just me, but when I first heard about a boss chess event in a raid years ago I was excited as hell. I love playing chess and the idea that I can finally put that to good use in this game got me so excited.
Until I learned what it was exactly, to which bummed me out a bit. I simply imagined the boss and I sitting at a table playing chess, but FOR KEEPS!!! While all my companions are behind me cheering me on.
Eh, a man can dream at least.

Such an annoying event. Ive got characters just needing the helm from the last boss, but hate doing that event. If its gotten even easier, I might try it again.
I recently did it by only using the king. It is stupidly easy now. I would love a mini game in the Darkmoon Faire or some other place where you can play a version of this minus the cheating part.

It was real simple before, Just sit on priest, heal buds, switch to king after a while and spank Medivh’s king. I mean, that took an awkward amount of time to figure out…

I need to start a thread involving a skip for the chess event instead of adding my opinion involving it in a thread about said chess event?
There should of been a method to skip it years ago, if not now then when as I’m sick and tired of not being able to essentially finish that raid because the chess event is BS. Either a skip or the enemy pieces become weaker and medivh stops cheating. I mean I’d love it if the piece you control’s health and power scale with you so I can just one shot the pieces I need to and be done with it. I mean other stuff in dungeons or raids we control have their stats scale up thanks to us to make encounters easier so why is Karazhan’s chess event still not doing that? It’s from burning crusade which is ancient at this point
This was nerfed years ago I remember when it happened. I think in legion? I learned how to do it in Wod, sometime in legion they nerfed it. Maybe when return to Kara came about?
