I would cheer for Chen, but bet on Po.
I always figured Chen was WoW’s version of Po so…who knows. They’d probably tie then go eat ramen together as Po doesn’t drink
WoW Monks manipulate chi as life energy, same as the pandas and everyone in Kung Fu Panda, however there’s one major difference, no matter the skill differential, Po knows the Wuxi finger hold.
This effectively kills whoever it’s used on (provided you aren’t already walking undead like Kai).
Chen Stormstout is virtually featless and we don’t know the in universe implications of alcohol on a brewmaster monk.
Po sneezes and deletes the entire Stormstout family line 9/10 times.
Chen, neg diff
Chen is at least 5 years older than kung-fu panda
Chen introduces Po to what made the Stormstouts famous.
Everyone wins.
Chen (WC3:TFT, 2003) pre-dates Kung Fu Panda (2008) by ~5 years… but yeah, they’ve leaned into it due to the film’s success.
So I’m going to say Chen wins.
Okay so maybe Chen would be like an uncle to Po then idk, the idea of karate pandas never came off as weird to me and I keep thinking they’d be the best of buds
Well, Po has food, but Chen has beer!
Chen would win.
Probably would be pals. I think it’s Kung Fu Panda 3 where Po discovers there’s a whole village of pandas, and he trains them. That’s a good franchise. I don’t care what anyone says.
Chen solo’d Stormstout Brewery faster than any 5 man speed run in BiS could so we at least know Chen > 5 BiS PCs.
Pretty sure they’d just be buddies and share some brew and noodles.
I bet on Nomi getting them both during the pre-fight feast.
Chen has yet to save china even once. That Garry Oldman peakcock was no joke, either. Easily the most intimidating peafowl in modern cinema.
Nomi would burn the feast, turning everyone against him. Again.
Consider this for a moment, Po has defeated some of THE best martial artists in fictional China, the first Tai Lung was a master of most basic techniques including pressure points (to the point that a major part of working him up in the first movies’ plot is him single handedly defeating the Furious Five AND Shifu consecutively, and we see early in the movie that Shifu is their teacher for a reason), then Kai who had every “master” in China at his disposal, and we see Po take on several of them in hand to hand combat + defeat Kai himself, making him THE best martial artist in setting.
Keep in mind that Kai is unkillable, even by the Wuxi fingerhold technique. This is because he is ALREADY dead, he has no life to take.
Keep in mind also, Po at one point explicitly mentions each of the Furious Five was worth 1,000 regular fighting soldiers, as he mentions that at the Battle of Weeping River, that they were outnumbered 1,000 to each member, so Masters are worth, at least the 5 are, 1,000 trained soldiers, and in a matter of days Shifu trains Po well enough to face an opponent that took down 5 martial artists worth an army of 5,000. This is JUST newly mantled Po as the Dragon Warrior, not taking into account that Kai had exponentially more at his disposal than Tai Lung as he had everyone’s skills and chi alive AND dead from the spirit realm.
They wouldn’t fight, like be honest
They’d have a great meal together, Chen would teach Po some of their pandaren style fighting and Po would make terrible metaphors about chi and his experiences
Chen sets out beer and a food platter and they bond over good food and drink. The fight never happens.
