So they went through all the effort to update the old cheetah travel form only for it to not be usable in the majority of content. Because they decided to merge travel, flight, and aquatic form we ended up being unable to enter the travel form anywhere where flight is enabled. “But rustbolt what about the glyph of the mount” yeah that doesn’t work. Cheetah form isn’t ridable so you still turn into your default travel form even if you have your ground travel form set to Cheetah. Therefor the appearance is inaccessible anywhere you can fly. Which is most zones that also allow you to use travel form at all. They revamped the cat form but didn’t bother to make it ridable despite putting in all that effort and since blizzard took our seperate toggles I can not access the neat new cheatah form.
There are seperate spells to specifically use those forms…
I really dislike the Travel Form being three different forms. I understand it was to condense down the amount of Druid form Buttons especially as a Balance Druid. At least make it a book (like the Treant Form), for those of us crazy enough to have all these separate Druid Form buttons.
…what?
You’ve been playing classic too long friend.
I don’t want to come off as mean to a community council member but I literally addressed this in the very next line.
Travel Form, in Retail is Cheetah/Stag, Water & Flight.
Cheetah/Stag is only accessible if you don’t have flight/in water & you’re in combat.
If you are able to fly - why do you want to be in Cheetah form? It’s inherently slower.
And if you don’t mind being slower - enter combat then hit travel form. You’ll be in your cheetah form going 40% speed.
EDIT: For the record, I dislike the Travel Form change they did because people complained there were too many spells. I much preferred having an Aquatic/Flight Form button. But this seems like a weird thing to nitpick about.
Yeah, Druid has been my “baby”, and I’m not happy with the changes. I’m fortunate enough to not have flight in BFA nor SL.
But, sometimes I just want to Cheetah, in SW.
Since they replaced cheetah form with homeless alley cat form, I havnt cared
Because I want to be a Cheetah? It got a model update. I wanna run around in it. I’m not using it to travel. I just want to access one of my druid forms at will. It doesn’t matter if it’s slower. It’s my prerogative my choice.
Well that’s something at least, thank you.
I just wanna play around with the new travel form.
Your pettiness against creating a post about it is equally weird and nitpicky. I don’t understand your hostility.
I offered a suggestion about the books, as a compromise for both that want less buttons, and those of that don’t mind extra buttons.
If not the books, Travel Form can be like the Hunter Utility button (for feeding, dismissing, reviving, etc., their pets), where you can pick Cheetah/Stag, Water or Flight, under the Travel Form umbrella.
Another degradation to the game you can thank Legion for I guess.
It’s a bit unfortunate though especially with the new model for those who like it.
I’ll have a look see if there are macros that can assure a specific form but I don’t really like my odds. Not sure when/if I get around to it though.
There’s already two books that add two extra shapeshifting buttons via the mountable Stag and Treant Form.
I want a book that allows access to the REAL Travel Form via Cheetah/Stag Form and separate it away from Water and Flight. Specifically Cheetah/Stag 'cause it’s nice to Bird Form when jumping in the air, from Water LOL
This would be nice they clearly have the tech for it.
Agreed. Or not even from books, it should honestly be default “here are the abilities, and here is one that automatically transitions”.
It basically another example of the Elemental Shaman nerf. “People were complaining they had to press buttons too frequently so we’ve nerfed the ability by 50%”
Like no, give them the option to remove stacks, don’t remove the default playstyle feom the game just because some people thought it was too difficult.
Since day 1 I always ran two travel form buttons, one was a macro setup to activate forms based on location (cat indoors, travel outdoors, aqautic in water, flight in flyable areas), and the other was strickly travel form as a cancel aura cast macro for snare breaking or if I specifically wanted to use that form.
Those were the good old days.
Immersion.
Maybe I just want to run around on the ground and even swim through the water in my cheetah/deer form… either for the fun of it, videos/screenies or roleplay :C
Not everyone is rushing thru the game.
And, personally, I like to decide what my characters do in-game 'cause, you know, they’re my characters, and that includes the form my druid takes.
It’s a stupid anti-RP design choice and it would be nice if you, as a CC member could post about it in that area, pointing out the issues with it.
I do not understand why, when Blizzard decides to revamp something, they can’t add in an option for players to be able to chose between the ‘original’ way and their ‘streamlined’ version. This would take care of so many complaints.
Oh my goodness this is so cute! Why can’t my combat cat form look like this!!!
yeah, players dont know what they want so the game has to decide what form works because no player would ever want to be a bird under water…
like, i want control over what form im in, even if its not efficient or “correct”
bird form should have a walk animation.
Cheetah should be allowed to go for a swim.
aquatic form should be allowed to flounder around on land.
as for a work around, you can activate cheetah form in areas where you can fly by simply getting into combat before clicking the birb form. game will be like “you cant become a birb in combat so have a cat instead”
