Classic is Chess…Retail is Checkers. What I mean by this is, in Classic you have to be very careful how you move and your rotation is a matter of living and dying. Also the classes aren’t balanced…some classes as in chess are stronger pieces on the board. In Retail all the classes are balanced as much as possible…as if the chess pieces have been dumbed down to all being checker pieces…with much less thought needed to make moves…and rotation is overly simplified to point of not really mattering anymore. Just an observation.

Retail has more moving parts, more things to consider, and more difficult opponents for you to fight, as you progress through difficult content.
Classic has limited number of things you can do, the mechanics are extremely dumbed down and simple, and a 8 year old could play it.

I like chess, but sometimes checkers is nice. However to those who keep babbling about retail vs vanilla. I enjoy the chess pieces. They will fit well up the nose.

Really so one shot’ing people which happens back in the day is which piece on the chess board? And takes how much skill?
Spamming 1 sometimes takes some real high IQ lateral thinking. I mean, it’s so simple, it feels like a mistake. Do I keep pressing 1? I’m suddenly filled with self doubt.
