Cheating with WeakAuras?

So, I was watching a Snutz vod yesterday and he had a game with a priest on the other team that seemed to have a weakaura or something to instantly counter axe toss. Snutz would cast Axe toss, and without even looking or seemingly being aware of the ability being used, the priest would shadowmeld within a fraction of a second of axe toss being used. It also looked like it insta silenced Snutz whenever he trinketed.

Has anyone else run into this?

I’m more than sure that it’s not within ToS to do that, but I don’t even know how one would do that? WeakAura? Macro? Scripting?

Edit: I would post a link to the VoD but Blizzard doesn’t trust me enough for links yet. If you want to see the video it has some cringe clickbait title and silly thumbnail and is titled “How Xaryu and I beat a cheater” or something like that.

Edit 2: Pretty sure I found the program. I’m not gonna post the link for fear of the wrath of Blizzard, but just google “wow kick scripting” and there is a program called Aimsharp that claims to be an “undetectable wow rotation bot”, and claims to be able to do lots of the things I was seeing in the VoD.

I dont think weakauras can use abilities or play the game in any way other than show you information in colorful ways about what is happening in a match.

I thought the same about WA as well, so maybe he actually had some kind of 3rd party script or something, which I always thought Blizz had been good at catching. Guess not, lol.

Sounds a little off, could be exaggerated, but there are players good enough to play like that. Dude doesn’t get enough hype but when jellybeans is in the zone the guy does insane stuff like that all the time.

While that is true, and people do have some insane reflexes, the reaction time was just too quick. If you are able to find the VoD, the SECOND he hits his axe toss, the priest is already melding. Like, the CD barely shows 30s remaining on Snutz toolbar and the priest has already melded. If those are genuine reactions, then this guy rivals Spider-Man.

I watched the video and it looked sketchy although I generally think that it’s completely unfair when content creators call somebody else like this when it’s not confirmed. if I remember correctly he pressed axe toss the exact second it came off CD.

The SP could’ve just been melding off Omnibar.

Weak auras themselves are cheating though :coffee:

Somebody woke up and chose violence.

people are also somehow doing this with INTERUPTS. I’ve been in BG’s where there’s just pure chaos. like 7-10 people in a PILEUP moshpot, with someone NOT even focusing or targeting me and as soon as i cast a spell, BOOM he somehow interupts me wehile fighting some other person

He put out a YouTube video of fighting anspriest who melded like 2-3 axe toss in a single game.

This isn’t really evidence of someone kick botting. The most likely scenario is you weren’t aware they were targeting you or someone set you as a focus target

yeah im definitly aware, it’s happened several times.

In MoP era it was a cheat called buddy of honor, you control your toon but it automates your rotation and interrupts. Made the news because blizz dropped a massive Ban Hammer. Instant perfect interrupts and thats how it gave players away.

That’s what high end level arena looks like they have next level awareness.

On casters I’ll generally set focus to the person I’m watching for an important cast.

Can also write something that’ll have a more emphasized alert for a thing with a travel time on top of being able to see its CD. Imagine an air horn when the bolt is mid-air and on you. :dracthyr_comfy_sip: Makes mid range bolts a little sketchier.

lol that is fair some people have some wild weak aura’s.

If he’s in a game with Snutz, he’s probably just good.

I mean, he was good. He was making smart plays, but the reaction time was just too fast for it to be pure skill. I also think I found the program they used. (Check 2nd edit on OP)

I watched the video as well. It was NOT just a case of “being good.” It was blatant and irrefutable cheating. If you’re in doubt, watch the video for yourself in it’s entirety.

So true, he doesn’t get enough credit, dude is an absolute god. It’s been sad seeing him maining bench in tourneys the last few seasons, hopefully can see him play some more this year.

What OP saw was probably just a TellMeWhen weakaura that alerted the priest, and very quick reaction times. Or someone playing on Jelly’s level where they can just predict what you are going to do before you even know it yourself lol.

It was insant but not perfect. If you knew someone had a buddy of honor you just faked immediately and got them to waste the kick
