This ability shouldn’t be allowed in arena. For one, if you get down to zero hp, they should die and for two, more importantly the cd on it is 6 minutes and in arena there are no moves that are over 5 mins.

yeahhhh ive had a lot of games ruined over the years by cheat death, even just this week, died and had my two dps alive right when the rogue/healer/x had their 3rd die, so it was a 2v2, chain gets setup on healer and rogue nearly gets 80-0’d but saved by cheat death and was therefore able to vanish out of the stun.
just feels lame at this point with how forgiving rogue is defensively now
Completely understand that. I had a game tonight vs rogue healer in two’s (I know two’s isn’t real but I only play with one friend and that’s what we play) and we had cc’d the healer and killed the rogue, but cheat death procced and he was able to vanish and we lost from it because we had no cds left and we play double dps ww monk and ret pally.

I certainly do miss the days when the arena forums were for people looking for people to play with. Now its all about people spamming about what they think is too OP or just complaining about class balance. If Blizzard brought back arena teams, that would be great. They even removed them for Classic too and are removing 5v5s in Cata prepatch too.
Remember back in Legion when they nerfed shroud of concealment to 6 minutes from 5 minutes and then banned its use in arena because 6 minute cooldowns were too powerful

To be fair, healers can almost instantly restore a player’s health to 100 after being at like 1 health point (that’s why it’s important to CC Healers in Arena). Also, several classes have abilities that can deny someone a kill on them, like Mages and Hunters for instance.
Plus i recall even shamans have a totem that can bring them back to life (totemic revival), and SL had the life pod. Also, cheat death doesnt even always work lol
If cheat death needs to go, so does guardian from priests as well as the mage cauterize as these work on them dying

How? Are you talking about Ice Block? Because that isn’t the same as cheat death. Ice Block can be dispelled and prevents actions from the mage.
But, I agree with the sentiment that rogues have a lot of control, but they do check mages, not as well as hunters, but still.

Cauterize should go. I much prefer the ol’ Blazing Speed talent, was so much fun!
Cauterize does not provide any damage avoidance beyond the killing blow it prevented.
It will also take away the majority of the health it gives over time with a negative effect.
Cheat death counters the killing blow leaving the rogue at 7% HP and gives the rogue 3 seconds of 85% damage reduction. There is no negative effect.
85% seems like a ridiculously high amount of damage reduction to have.
What else has that amount of damage reduction that isn’t an immunity?
