Hello,
I’ve been having this issue with WoW lately, I can play the game just fine, it’s just some of the time these issues pop up in-game which forces me to alt + F4 to make them go away before happening again.
- Suddenly I can’t type in chat or read guild/say/party or general chat, yet when I pick up items for quests, emotes and stuff like that does show up in my chat log.
- When the first issue occurs, I also can’t speak to NPC’s to pick up quests or to turn in quests.
- When I try to logout, the 20-second timer starts, but once it reaches 0 my character doesn’t log out and my toon just stays sitting down in place, can’t exit game either.
Any ideas on how I can fix this? I’ve recently resubbed to play WoW Classic and it’s getting a bit frustrating.
Thank’s.
I’ve been having the same issue quite a bit lately. If I alt F4 and come back in it clears up for a while, but I’ve found the most success using a VPN. Are you using Verizon FIOS for your internet?
I don’t think it’s an internet issue because I’m playing with low ms, so idk.
I am also playing with low MS. Sometimes it will spike to a few hundred, but generally the MS shows between 26 and 32 and I still have the issues. Restarting the game fixes it for a little bit, but I’ve noticed that the issue is completely gone with a VPN.
It could be packet loss, possibly. You can try the VPN work around that Ecksy mentions, or run a connection test like a WinMTR test which catches a disconnection or one of these large lag issues. You want to restart the test every 10-15 minutes until you catch one of these problems. Once you’ve caught one red handed, run the test for about 5 more minutes. This will let us look for problems between your house and our servers which may cause this.
If you have problems with posting it due to a link error, go ahead and copy paste this into your next post, and replace “WinMTR goes here” with your test.
