Ever since 10.2.5, trying to make new chat windows on new characters seems very broken, or just plain confusing. Before, you could right click, hit create window, and move trade and services to new windows so they didn’t populate other chat areas. Now, when chat windows are created, the names of the channels don’t show up in the settings and it defaults them to text to speech channels. Also, in these new channels, turning on and off chat options doesn’t work. Is this a bug or did some feature with chat windows change?
I’m having a ton of issues with creating chat windows. I also can’t remove them. I have to go back to “default settings” which completely wipes out all of my created windows.
Seconded. This is completely bricked. It renames the window to chat 4 & any change you make either doesn’t save or doesn’t apply & sometimes both. Thanks!
Glad to see more people are seeing this issue. Has anyone found a work around yet?
Can confirm that this is an issue. The first new chat window I create shows up blue and cannot be deleted, nor does it show up in the settings. Instead you see a random [Chat 4]. Hope this gets fixed soon.
This is infuriating while trying to make a new character. I hope that Blizzard will see this and bring a fix around soon. Please!
Having the same issue, characters that already have windows set up are fine, but on ones I haven’t played? Completely borked.
I thought it was addons but then I disabled everything.
Much silly, very dumb. Definitely need to go back to window creation the way it was.
Glad i found this thread because i thought i was going crazy with the chat window opening to text to speech page and not being able to change any channels on new chat windows.
Same issues here, new chat windows not creating or displaying changes made even using ElvUi.
Bump in hopes that blizzard acknowledges it
Glad to see I am not the only one. Hopefully blizzard responds.
I am also running into this bug on a newly created character.
Anyone found a work around yet?
It seems that this has been hotfixed without letting us know (if so, thank you Blizzard!) EDIT
There is a work around for closing the speech-to-text window by going to Options, Accessibility, Speech-to-Text, and then clicking every option on then off. The window should disappear. Good luck! Thank you Blizzard!
