It’s not being unfaithful. These people believe players can BAN other players. It’s not about anything else. They believe a bunch of people can get together and BAN another player’s account.
It’s obviously not true to anyone with an iota of common sense. I’ll simply keeping repeating the truth every time they lie about it.
What I believe is happening that causes people to theorize that these bans are “automated” is the fact that much of blizzards customer support is now automated. I do believe before taking action, especially permanent bans on accounts, that it is always verified by an actual human before the action is taken. However, I think people get the idea that doesn’t happen because nearly all communication you get when you file a report, appeal, ticket, etc is an automated or AI-generated reply and is completely impersonal. This leads people to believe the other aspects of customer support are similar, especially with the number of people who repeat this theory. That said, I agree that this doesn’t happen and the people who catch bans at least said or did something against ToS that was reported by, likely, multiple people, and then verified by a blizzard employee.
What you get is a form response created by an individual that says exactly the same thing (if you are silenced for being toxic as an example) that someone else got. You may get an automated response your ticket was received by the system but after that someone is involved.
Companies do this to:
Standardize the responses so they know exactly what was sent to the customer.
Reply quickly and easily.
Have standard language so that a GM does not accidently say the wrong thing and you all blow another gasket of the smallest issue/mistake.
People believe it is some AI thing because that is the “big thing these days” and it further stirred by horrible news outlets that Robocop is going to take your job. Then people don’t want to admit to a mistake or doing something wrong, so they point at someone else or something else and say there, there is the problem… and the sheep follow.
People are also impatient. How dare they take 5 days to respond to my ticket. It should take only 20 seconds… mmhmmm… ok.
Its not, if you file a ticket about an obscure topic that there isn’t an accurate choice for, you still have to choose a topic to file it under, so if you do, they reply with the exact same thing that they would for any ticket under that same topic. I have tested this before because I had an obscure issue that didn’t fit any available category, I had to place it under account appeals as the most accurate one, despite it not being a question of trying to appeal any account action. What they sent back to me was saying their action was justified and I broke terms of service, despite me never having been reported or having any action taken against me and simply needing to use that section to file the ticket. So you can call it nonsense, but that proves that no person read my ticket and replied to it, because the reply makes 0 sense with context with my ticket and is completely off. If any real person read my ticket and responded with it, they should be reprimanded as an employee in some way for not doing their job, lol.
Why did you just assume I was lying because its not something you have personally had to deal with? There is ABSOLUTELY some amount of automation in emails and replies you receive to tickets that you submit, that automation just does not extend to suspensions and bans.
Listen, I agree with you entirely as far as the response to player reports goes. But the quality of employees in blizzard customer support is -VERY POOR- if they are not using some automated system if they completely ignore every single thing you type in a ticket you submit and reply with totally different information that has nothing to do with your ticket. Maybe I was just unlucky.
This is significantly more likely to be the case than believing they’re using automation or AI and arbitrarily forcing you to wait for your ticket to be answered for no reason.
