I can still type into any chat and it does go thru, but I can’t actually see any chat. The type bar is placed over the bottom of the box as well.

Try entering the command /resetchat into the main chat window. This will reset the chat settings and position to defaults.
Tried this, changed nothing.
If you hover over the General tab on the chat window, right-click and go to Settings, do all the Player Message types show up checked there?
Are you using any addons? Sometimes they can mess with the chat settings.
Yes everything is checked. I am using elvui but everyone else i know who also uses it, isn’t having any issues.
The small client-side patch broke Elvui’s chat module. You’ll need to disable it until it’s patched; I was dealing with the same thing.
