I’m not sure how common this bug is but only on characters I’ve opted into the Mentor System are affected. For those characters near every time I log in my channels are shuffled around, normally my Newcomer Chat is 4 but will be any other number. The colors also shuffle and attach themselves to different chats a lot, again Newcomer is orange but it might turn Trade orange instead.
I’ve tried turning off addons and this doesn’t alter anything. Some times I log on and it’s fine.
Here’s a question - do you use TRP as one of your add-ons? I know you said you tried turning them off, but especially as you’re on an RP realm that is often the culprit here. It has a broadcast channel that will bork out your channel listing. There is a setting to turn it off within the interface.
I may be wrong entirely, but just making sure to rule out the most obvious cause first.
I have this problem occasionally as well, where LookingForGroup will sometimes become 1st channel on some of my characters instead of General. My only chat related addon is Prat but I don’t believe it is causing it. Haven’t ran into the issue in like 3 weeks though.
After messing with those settings it seems to keep my channels how I had them set. I’ve tested various ways of relogging and closing and after about 10 times it stayed how I put them. I don’t know why it may of been messing with my channels while the addon was off.
