I have tried suggestions in support articles, renamed cache folders, reloaded UI, deleted cache folders, messed with settings. I’ve tried everything short of uninstalling and reinstalling the entire game. Isn’t there a repair tool? Can’t find that anymore either. Frustrating…
By chat channels I take it you mean General, Trade and Local Defense? It is a known issue that Tirisfal Glades before BFA content (so low level) will not work till you enter BFA content.
Unfortunately, I’m talking about my max level toons that are in Boralus or anywhere for that matter. The only chat that works with commands is Guild chat. /g works Nothing else.
If it’s all max level characters I would recommend the following steps:
Perform a full User Interface reset following the steps Here. Then log into one of your main characters use the following chat commands:
/console cvar_default
/console cvar_reset
/reload
Retest. If the issue continues try to toggle Warmode. Report back if this helps or not. After that let me know what realm and faction this is occurring on.

What about the global chat channels in certain zones like Azsuna which have remained broken for months?

Some specific zones are affected by a bug that our Quality Assurance team has on their tracking. I do not have an ETA for a fix but I can say that they are aware of this bug.

I really appreciate you trying to help. At this point I have done everything available to me short of reinstalling the whole game. I did run a scan and repair as well. The commands you gave me, “You do not have permission to use that command”. (might not have been the exact message) but basically the game doesn’t let me use those commands.
Not sure what to do. This is simple thing that really detracts from the game when not available. 8(

I logged into your Paladin character, and was able to type into General, Trade, and LocalDefense chat channels normally. This suggests that whatever the problem is it’s related to the local game client not the specific characters.
If you have disabled any addon managers to prevent re-syncing addons, and done the UI reset that Zuvykree suggested, then I might suggest contacting support directly for further assistance.
