Charter Concepts?

Just kind of curious what sort of popular Charter ideas people have seen or are interested in! Most I’ve seen have simply been generic or racial specific, but would be fun to see, say, one that’s all Kirin Tor refugees from Dalaran, for example. Or maybe a nautical trade one making the exteriors feel like a proper port town! Just would be interesting to see some Charters that further add a bit more lore to the zone, giving excuses for lil events and walk up rp with neighbors. I’m sure kingdom style guild rp would thrive too, for that matter. Anyhow, yeah, just was curious on everyone’s thoughts so as to gather roleplayers to specific neighborhoods!

Many ideas/desires for guilds I’ve had were either class specific or meant to emulate an existing canon faction; assassin guilds, mage guilds, monk guilds, an emulation of the Illidari. I tend to feel like there should be more guilds like this, but I think I somewhat understand why there aren’t.

I also vague recall making a thread in the WRA forums where I listed some concepts for guilds I thought were interesting but knew I could never see to fruition. I would link that, but I don’t remember if that posted in the current forums or the old one and I can’t be bothered to search for it. I vaguely recall one was some kind of Worgen secret society, but I recall any more detail than that.

Addendum:

If it wasn’t already painfully obvious, I thought this thread was about guilds. I’m not changing a single word.

I wanna try a mage-priest. That like, one thing that showed up as an NPC in the culling of Stratholme and hasn’t been seen since. How does it work? I gotta know!

There are the Kul Tiran Tidesages, which are similar at least in that they don’t neatly fit in the class boxes! Given it’s island status, would actually be kinda interesting to see some charter group use it as their comvent type place once KT architecture is out! Very similar feel to Stormsong Valley, after all!

Actually, given their multi guild nature, wouldn’t be surprised to see charters based on some of the monthly public rp events to pop up as well, to work together to design exterior plots as a stage for the event rp!

Until we get enough members in our guild (10 I think is the number). We are planning on just joining any cool RP Neighborhoods, and doing our thing.

Once we have enough to have our own neighborhood. We will have one Horde and Alliance side as we already have plans for two guilds anyways. One on MG, Alliance, and one on Horde WrA. Both are cross faction and cross realm.

Our main storyline themes are carnival/masquerade/parades mixed with a bit of shady and merchant and slice of life RP. We have three Houses within our guild to kind of have a little something that could work for most themes. There is room for Military/Soldier themes as well as our themes are based off of Masquerades and those seen all walks of life coming together during those events for everyone to have a good time.

Having our own inter-guild competitions between opposing factions could be a lot of fun.

The RP Neighborhoods are so well done. There is room to have entire storylines based out of both zones and the rest of the world as well.

My friends and I in our guild(s) are already super excited for this.

If interested lemme know, and we can get you in our in-game community, and our out of game discord.

We just ask folks to have TRP3 and TRP3 Extended as we use that for RP Campaigns and some Custom Items as well as Bounty Hunter boards.

Guild name is changing to fit Midnight launch and something else fun, but here are the basic concepts we started with.

Oh man, yeah, could DEFINITELY see a regular style black market/smugglers gathering in the spookier parts of the Alliance zone, especially if someone did the graveyard plots up with tents and wagons. Similarly with Horde, those sandy beaches are all but screaming for for big parties or for a guild run resort! Will definitely check it out in any event! Masquerades and shadey side dealings sound like the bread and butter of my warlock main!

Personally, i’d like to see boutique guilds creating open neighborhoods. And take it a step further …

Create an “associate” rank. Allow people to join the guild on an alt, who are kind of interested in the guild’s IC setting but not really wanting to get involved with a guild. The mutual understanding would be that the “associate” can’t expect to advance up the ranks of the guild or have all the privileges of regular guild members. The regular guild members would get first crack at plots, by whatever method the guild chooses. The “associates” would then be next in line. A better chance at getting a spot they like than in a public neighborhood.

I’d recommend not being too strict on the “HOA”. OTOH, the associates should expect that they are obliged to fit in with the basic theme and IC setting. Same goes for guild activities - don’t hold associates to the same standards as regular guild members. OTOH if someone is freeloading - never contributing to endeavors for example - if they’re an associate guild member it’d be fairly straightforward to yellow card them, with getting gkicked from the neighborhood being the ultimate penalty.

A small guild would then have a fuller neighborhood that suits their vibe, and players who want a little independence from guild obligations could still be in a neighborhood that suits them.

You kind of described our guild anyways. The House of Wonders and House of Shadows are both more in depth Houses, where the House of Mirrors is just the more casual House of the guild and the lifeblood of those who kind of just want to hang and like our vibe, so yeah. That kind of describes us.

Until we even get close to 50 members we will probably be a Charter Neighborhood, and when we grow to a size that we feel we need to be an all Guild only neighborhood is when we will make that move and jump.

…..unless somehow the endeavors thing is tied to some sort of progression in someway. Like if we lose all leveling up renown from progress on Endeavors by starting over we might just be a guild only neighborhood. I think it just depends on a lot of unanswered variables at this point.

Best experience I’ve had with a particular character idea is a commoner with low wisdom who’s path in life is dictated almost entirely by SW rp.

Don’t be afraid to accept consequences, they are what define your character, not runeblades or gold armor.

It’s been a wild ride.
