On the Rogue legendary quest “A Hidden Message”. I was sitting down from AFK when I tried to purchase the Charging Decoder Ring from Thaumaturge Rafir in Stormwind. It gave an error of “You must be standing to perform this action” or whatever the exact text says.
It did take my 10K gold, it did not give me the Charging Decoder Ring. According to the quest comments on Wowhead, others have had the same issue. I’ve gotten 3 in-game support responses which have all said I have to wait 12 hours – it’s been almost 12 days now and I still only have Cryptomancer’s Decoding Ring in my inventory.
I either need a Charging Decoder Ring, or my 10K gold returned to purchase a new one.

So this has been going on for almost 2 weeks now, and I received my 3rd GM message last night.
After reviewing your case, it appears that the error you encountered when trying to purchase the Charging Decoder Ring while seated is a known issue. Unfortunately, it seems that the 10,000 gold was deducted, but the ring was not granted due to this error.

Otherwise, sorry we can’t help. Even though others have had this fixed by GMs in the past.
I am not paying another 10K to continue the quest without a refund. I just need either my gold returned, or the item that I purchased. I appreciate any help I can get here.
