I have the following characters at lvl 100 or above:
Human DK
Human Warrior
Human Paladin
Dark iron Shaman
Kul tiran Monk
Blood Elf Warlock
Draenei Mage
Worgen Hunter
Zandalari Rogue
I also have:
Night Elf Druid
Mag’har Priest
Blood Elf DH
The ONLY character I regret making is my Kul Tiran Monk. Like the class, but after the novelty of being Kul’tiran wore off, I no longer felt like playing a fat human.
I’ll probably use my SL boost on a Monk of another race.
I literally made a demonhunter. Named it Malisregret.
I regret making it to this day, haven’t bothered leveling it.

I don’t regret -having- characters. But I mostly boost them because I generally don’t enjoy WoW’s leveling (haven’t since after WotLK). So I have characters I “regret” boosting. Even then it’s less “I really shouldn’t have spent that money” and more “Ah. I didn’t really end up playing that one much, eh?”
The closest to regret would be the 110 Monk I boosted in the tail end of Legion. I already knew I didn’t like Windwalker, I didn’t like the theme of the Tank spec, so I wanted to try healing. Freaking hated how the spec worked. Liked how my character looked well enough, but had no interest in continuing to play it.
By far my least-touched character.
I’ve never created a Death Knight or Demon Hunter. I don’t regret not creating a Demon Hunter, but lately I’ve been thinking of creating a Death Night for Shadow Lands.
I’m not a fan of melee classes, but Death Knight seems kind of interesting, so might give it a try.
Regretted making a Warrior because of the heavy melee component.
My DH. Pure Korrack baby. No interest in the class, but it’s 120 now so it’s ready to be squished at least.
For people saying Demon Hunters:
Even if you don’t enjoy the class or whatever, you can abuse them to break SO much stuff if you know where to look.
Just an example. Y’all remember those mobs in Thrones of the Tides that do the gravity thing in the hallway on the way to the optional boss? Yeah. Drag one of those to the end boss’s room as a DH, glide when they do it. Turns out the dome you fight in isn’t a solid object.
Probably shouldn’t say that kind of stuff here, but whatever, it’s not like you can gain any kind of advantage by doing that.
I, Donny Kawano, regret nothing when it comes to character creation!
What I do regret is deleting a character named “Coleslaw.” I think he would’ve been a great asset to these forums.

Not making fun, I love the name.
Coleslaw and another character named Bratwurst would be an awesome team!

Honestly the only characters I have that I regret are the ones I’ve used my free boosts on. I dont feel the same connection to them as I do to all the characters I leveled normally.

That is actually very true for me too. I make duplicates of my mains, then try to treat them as such…but it does not ever feel right. So they get abandoned, I wasted a boost.

I don’t level classes I don’t like, so I don’t regret anything thus far. If I delete it before level 20 (when starting at level 1), it wasn’t meant to be. That said, I take a lot of time to determine what race I want for what class.
NO RAGRETS!

I wanna poke your brain.
So my go-to mains have always been my Paladin (usually Holy) and my Shaman (usually Elemental). I leveled them both normally back during WotLK. I’d alternate or main both depending on when you asked me.
For Legion, I tried out a bunch of classes on the PTR and during Prepatch because I wanted to try something new. Ended up settling on Shadow Priest because the revamp really hooked me (even if I decided halfway through Legion I’d never main a Shadow Priest again).
So, my usual mains fell behind.
At the end of Legion, I used a boost on a Highmountain Tauren Shaman. I ended up not liking that, so I transferred it back to Alliance. That’s the toon I started out maining for BfA. Not the original, because it was still level 100.
Would you feel the same connection to this new Shaman as the old Shaman? They are the same race and gender. Name is different, but I’ve been known to name or race change my Shaman fairly often anyway.
continuing that, I stopped raiding halfway through BfA. I now main on a different server. I boosted -another- Shaman, different race/name on this new server. It’s my current main. More/Less of a connection than the previous Shaman? How about compared to the Original Shaman?
Final Question.
If your answer is that neither of these 2 new Shamans has the same connection as the original, what if I were to name and race change the current Shaman to match the Original?
Donny you are out of your element.

You’re weird. I have a total of 22 characters at level 120, 14 Alliance and 8 Horde. I have at least 1 of every class on Alliance with a second Hunter and Demon Hunter. Horde I have everything except Mage, Priest, Monk, and Rogue. For every character I have at 120 means more gold, more gold means more free game time.
Most of the gold I get is passive income from just playing the game with Emissary, Paragon caches, Mission board, and World Quests. When its Emissary gold day that’s like an easy 28,000 gold for Alliance and 16,000 gold for Horde. It’s especially good with 8.3 for every character that unlocks the Cloak quest, I get even more gold with the 3 Assaults every week with a chance at 2000 gold each.
I don’t grind out on every character, I have a main character this Druid, and everyone else is casual play that funnels my way. I learn every class, every spec, and try out new things like I don’t know that many players that actually use Freezing Trap as an additional stun or interrupt mid combat. If I feel a character isn’t pulling their potential, i find ways in their arsenal to do it. I don’t give up on a character because it sucks, I work on it until I find where it fits in my play style.
9/10 I’m surprised to see that helm work so well.
None really… but I regret using my Legion boost on some lv30 Rogue on a RP server, for the mog. -sighs-
I did end up managing to say hi to Keydar, though, on the character… so that made up for the wasted boost I think.
