Right now, we get 10 characters per server in WoW Classic. I have two questions:
1 - Will this limit be increased with TBC-Classic?
2 - How does the whole Classic / TBC Classic transition affect limits?
For example, I currently have 10 characters on Deviate Delight. If I send 5 of those to “Classic only” servers, will that free up 5 toon spots on the progression server?
I’d like to be able to create a draenai or two without deleting characters I have already put a rather large amount of work into.
I believe they said in the Q&A that your toons will not disappear from the TBC client. They will just become inactive. They haven’t clarified this and it is a very good question.
In this video, sure they’re talking about the changes to “Drums”, however if you continue listening through the interview, he clarifies more on what their stance on “#somechanges” actually means. They want to address REAL issues as opposed to just giving us QoL Features.
With that being said, I’mma go with “no”, they’re not increasing the 10 Char per Server Limit.
I had to re-watch the Q & A, and I put a Time-Stamp to the direct question regarding something similar to this:
This Quote, is the reason I re-watched it, so it doesn’t seem like those 5 Characters would be deleted but just set up to be “inactive” which clogs up a character slot. I think this was their way of ensuring to keep everyone’s “copies”. It’s unclear, if you’ll be able to delete these “inactive” characters or not, though. All IK is, the slot is still filled. But ofc, that’s just my own speculation.
