So I am planning on moving one of my characters from one account to another. From what I read, there is a way to copy the macros all together specifically for that character. Would I be able to just copy / paste everything under my character’s folder over as well and it would carry over?
C:\Program Files (x86)\World of Warcraft_retail_\WTF\Account<ACCOUNT>#1<SERVER NAME><CHARACTER NAME>
Moving files on your hard drive does not move a character to a new account. To do this, you need to purchase a Character Transfer to move them from account to account.
All your settings, including the macros, will transfer with the toon.
Lol im aware of that. what Im referring to are the saved settings associated with the transfer such as macros…
I’m quit certain that macros are character-specific, so they transfer to a new account when it’s purchased. Moving files on your local hard drive won’t accomplish it.
Your macros are saved at both the account and character level in “macros.txt” and “macros.old” files under your WoW directory tree. Best to back those up before you order the transfer (at least the per-character ones).
You’ll run into some trouble with a lot of the “ACE3” model addons because they don’t all save data by character using Blizzard’s model. They save it globally but with the character name as part of the data key structure. Those you can actually edit the saved data files on (using “change all”) and fix without too much trouble. It’s a little bit of a hassle, but not as bad as resetting all your addon settings manually.

That’ll cover most of it, yeah.
Like Phodge mentioned, Ace3 stuff is setup different.
