I find it frustrating being a new WoW player starting on a new player server starting to reach level 30 and wanting to transfer servers but being asked to pay 25$ for it. I really feel like people on new player servers should be allowed one free player transfer.
I feel that if a new player is still lower level and decides they want to try a different server, they should roll a character free of charge on another server and see if they like it before spending money on a transfer.
meh, just reroll on a new server. retail leveling is super fast and you make plenty of gold doing quests. sadly, blizz does not have a disclaimer for new players: research what realm is active before starting a toon.
The entitlement is strong with this one.
There’s no entitlement. It’s a new player who doesn’t understand how servers work. This isn’t the first time new players have gotten confused or not understood, because there’s no explanation.
The attitudes in this thread are why new people hate our community and don’t continue playing. It’s sad that these are the reactions to someone new.
Only a new player would ever pay for a transfer on a level 30 character.
I know because I’ve done it back when I was a noob and would never choose to do it now.
Don’t do it, just reroll on your preferred new server.
They need to connect more realms, but until then, you may wantbto just roll a new character. I’ve transferred low level toons before, but getting to 30 doesn’t take too long theses days. You may want to try a new class 9n a different server and see how it goes. Then later roll a rogue there or pay to transfer.
The “New Player” servers are a trap.
They don’t help “new players” in any way…it’s just another label for low pop/dead servers. If anything they do the game a disservice, as players realize they can’t join guilds or do anything at end game and either pay to leave or better yet just quit since they have little skin in the game.
If anyone asked me, I would absolutely advise them not to join any “new player” or low pop realm. I would even be reluctant to join a “medium” pop realm to be honest.
I already recommend this as part of my volunteering as a guide. New player realms are even worse than low pop and only serve to harm the newcomers. Blizz needs to be more aggressive in linking dead servers and/or funneling new players towards populated realms instead. It’s an overall worse experience for everyone involved and it’s a huge bummer for new players who are told they have to start over when they’re just starting to get attached to their character.
