Unfortunately, during the last several weeks, I have to disable all addons when logging into a remix character and then re-enable them when I get into the game, otherwise the game will complete lock up. These issues are not present in retail, and used to be less severe in remix at one time, and do not seem to be triggered by a particular addon as they can all be fully re-enabled upon login without issue. (That is not the main reason for this report, however.)
With the recent character select screen changes in prepatch, the majority of the time, I will disable all addons on that specified character, which has worked without issue prior, but when I load into the game, my addons are not actually disabled and I have to play the force quit game until the disabled addons option finally sticks.
To reproduce:
Login to wow and select the character you would like to play
Go into Menu > Addons
Select the character from the dropdown instead of all (which is also bugged to extend beyond view via my other reports)
Select disable all
Ok > Close
Enter World
It’s bizarre because if I open the game again after crashing due to addons being enabled, it may actually show all addons disabled for that character when I go into the options a second time, reaffirming the selection is not always being recognized when logging into the game. Occasionally it will take multiple attempts to get the game to log the character without addons, sometimes only one or two. This was NOT an issue prior to the prepatch.
I don’t even think the “all” addon settings has worked properly to save across characters, but that option has been broken in some way for at least 5 years if not longer. However, the disable all addons on a per character basis and selecting individual addons upon relog has been working prior to the prepatch.
The better option is probably to remember to disable all addons while logged into the character before logging out, but it’s not always feasible to remember or do that.
