Character slots

So… with Dragonflight coming out soon, I’m really hoping for some new character slots. I’ve been playing for over a decade and I have max slots at levels 50+. I would rather not delete characters since every character is unique and I do get to all of them eventually. Please Blizzard, give us at least 10 more character slots this expansion. You really should have done it when we got allied races. At this point (with an actual new class after getting 10 new races) it’s obnoxious that we don’t have more.

Agreed! What? In not just an alt posting on my own thread! <_<

I agree. Especially if they are going to allow more class/race combos. Imo, they should double it to 100 per account.

I 100% agree. I am always having to delete characters to make new ones just to mess with and enjoy other aspects of the game.

Of course, to do so will require delving deep into the never-ending pasta bowl that is the core code of the game, meaning that to do so may take years…

It’s sad, actually. You can have up to 400 characters per account and we still only have 50 available to us.

Agreed!

Naysayers will try and tell us that it would be chaos for names. But you can already hold up to 400 names without paying a dime extra. (starter accounts can reserve names)

I’m ok with less accounts per bnet licence but more slots on said accounts.
I’m also more than willing to pay for my extra slots.

If that’s true it may be the only real reason to not do it. All the other people who have commented against it have bad reasons lol. No idea how right or wrong you are but I hope you are wrong! No offense intended lol

It would be really nice if they did, I would personally love it. But I doubt it will ever happen. As long as Blizz can make money from all those willing to pay for a second or more subs for more character slots they will never give it for free.

The best I can see them doing is offering more slots on the store. Blizz just can’t do anything like that unless they think they can make more money.

Sadly this will probably be what they do, offer more slots on the shop, or if they are feeling bold, start offering different subscription tiers that increase the number of slots you have.

I have no issue with this. $5 for 5 more slots, max of 75 or something. Works for me.

This is Blizz. If they end up on the shop it will probably be more along the lines of $15 a slot with a discounted option for $60 for 5.

what do you do with so many characters? always wanted to know in detail! How many slots in the account? I’ve been playing for over 3 years and I only have 5 characters

since Microsoft is inevitably going to have us swap to the Microsoft account and probably a new launcher at some point, I’d like to just see WoW accounts on same battlenet be merged.

Then replacing getting multiple licenses for game on 1 account with just buying 50 character slot expansions that they can retroactively apply to people with old accounts lying around from either farming RAF or multiboxing before they made the software version against ToS.

why are you so eager to throw money at them? this is something that should be free not cost money.

Where did I say I was eager or throwing money at anyone?

I simply said I have no issue with it.

To add character slots? Or am I misunderstanding your comment. Unless their code is way worse or outdated than I thought to add slots should not be that big a deal.

I’ll always show my agreement with this kind of thing. We need more slots. We more race / class combos get added, we should get more slots.

It’s actually really bad to be honest. When leveling had been addressed back during Legion’s patch 7.3.5, the raid broke. WoW’s one of the earliest games to make the phrase “spaghetti code” applicable.

but why not? this is something one would expect from a ftp game. not a buy to play sub game.

I don’t think it’s eagerness, more of a compromise. Atm Blizzard charges $15 a month for 50 slots for a max of 400. If we’re assuming that Blizzard isn’t going to give us this for free, which history says they won’t since we have an entire section for Character Services, then I think they should come up with something that’s fair.

Or if they do offer it for free, then maybe they could do something like a button page on your active account. You can “gray” out one of your licenses for 50 additional slots then keep going until all 7 or whatever is grayed out and you now have 400 slots. That would prevent people from having hundreds or thousands of character slots and make those happy that don’t want 8 accounts.

However, someone like me that has 2 sometimes 3 active accounts could gray out just 5 accounts and still have just as many character slots as someone that grayed out all 7.

(Gray out = deactivate)
