Character size slider

Do yall think that blizz will ever let us change the size of our characters. Not like width or hight exclusively.
I think a 25% overall size slider would be beneficial for the game. Kinda like what they already do for lore characters being larger than their player counterparts (ex: Jaina is bigger than a female human)

this is legitimately something they could add since the mechanics already exist.

I do not. I’m hoping when we hit the cap on ARs they’ll fold the existing races into the Core Races and come up with new options, and that all future Core Race selections have the AR body type.

What do you think this place would look like if people couldn’t get in buildings to finish quests b/c they made themselves too big.

well you put upper and lower limits within reason. The biggest a human gets is a night elf standard, biggest a night elf gets is a zandalari troll standard, and the biggest races like tauren can only get a few points bigger but more room to be smaller.

Easy. The current tauren size would be max size, so tauren could only scale down.

Someone used a bunch of toyd/consumables to become a giant tree that almost reached the skybox (or did) and sat on the docks in boralus.

I wish. It’d be the closest thing we’d ever get to a height slider for sure.

I could see them doing this, honestly. The only trick part would be the elves (Nightborne using nelf and void elf using belf, it couldn’t be straight customization options since they’re different factions).

To the point of the thread, though, I don’t know if I’d want a straight size slider. Especially not 25%, which is a lot. NPCs are larger so you can see them, but lore-wise they aren’t actually giants. I wouldn’t mind something like a weight/height slider on a smaller scale, though, such as what Lotro (and I think some other games) use.

I support being even tinier!!!

Even if we could only change height a tiny bit I think it would be worth adding as a customization option.

Would this include sliders for body parts too?

If so :white_check_mark: from me

See, the problem here is that then no one would do Gnomish Engineering so they can make World Enlarger/Shrinker, and we need prospective students to go into these fields so the economy can grow in these bad times.

Otherwise, I agree with this notion.

100%. I just think of Dadgar and others over previous expansions and why they are 4x the size of us lol.

Except none of that makes any lore sense whatsoever, which is what our heights are based off of.

Average male night elf height is 7’5. You can go a few inches above or below for accuracy. No way in hell would a night elf hit the average height of a zandalari troll, which is ten feet. That’s absurd.

We should be asking for sliders revolving around body type. Muscle mass, curvature, weight, etc. It’ll never happen, but that makes much more sense.

o jesus

and so it begans…

standard deviations say otherwise. And a zandalari troll isn’t 10 ft they are more like 8.5 :stuck_out_tongue:

Sure but to say the variance would be ‘only a few inches’ is also absurd. The average height in humans has a range of 8 inches. That’s the AVERAGE. Humans can be taller or shorter than that. 4’10" to 6’4" is pretty common in the U.S., that’s nearly 1.5 ft.

You’re right that a Nightelf shouldn’t be 10ft tall, but there could easily be some minor amount of customization implemented.

 whatever do you mean panda man

Unlikely, Ion even said so in the March 2019 Q&A. It was stated we could expect more customization options, which we just saw the first of at Blizzcon 2019, but that there are major technical hurdles they would need to go through in specific with character sliders. They actually talk about sliders specifically.

30:46 is where character customization discussion starts if for some reason the video does not start there.

With that said, never say never with Blizzard but its highly unlikely we will ever see WoW move to character sliders because it was never built with those things in mind and if we do it probably wont be anytime soon
