Character shows mail notification on character select screen but has no mail in box

So, ever since Pre-Patch started I have one character that always shows the mail notification at the character select screen (It is always the same character). This is at all times, even when there is no Mail in the character’s box. Other characters mail notification work fine. Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

You might see this happen if you received mail from someone in your ignore list.

Well I liked the idea. But I have no one on ignore. Thanks for the idea though I didn’t think of this.

cant find anything on the internet about this bug but this post. posting to keep track of it. Any word on a fix? Damn icon is annoying af when you log in and dont actually have mail.

This is happening to me too, and I know what it is and who it’s from yet it’s not there when I open my mailbox. I just made a new thread since this one is old.

Mail Bug - Missing!

A friend sent me a pvp tailoring recipe earlier (it has been many hours now), I can not see it in my mailbox but the mail icon is lit up and on the character selection screen it shows that I have mail (and hovering over the icon shows his character’s name). How can I get my mail? When I open the mailbox it’s empty. I have no idea what is going on or why this is happening. Character is Morae-Shatteredhand
