Love the new look but…
1.) You should have a way to still see your characters by REALM.
(why? because people that have been playing a long time and have tons of Alts and use the same name often need this. It’s a hot mess)
2.) Would be great to have 5 slots for ‘favorites’ like a party.
3.) Try changing addons pre log-in for a specific character. It again gives one giant list and you have no way of telling which one of your 18 alts named ‘CupCakeWarrior’ to choose.
4.) At the very least add in some sort of filtering or sorting function.
I can’t believe they released it this way honestly or how someone thought this was ok. This reminds me of I.T. / Software changes at work when it’s obvious the designer has no clue as to the workflows they are actually working on.

just select the realm tab on top of your screen you can then select the realm you want

Does nothing.
I can click Stormrage and the list will populate and the 4th character on my list that pops up is on Arygos.
I click Arygos and - the list is exactly the same.

Thanks, but, that doesn’t work. Yes, you can select a realm but it doesn’t present your characters in that realm only after doing so.
Try clicking on 'Menu → Addons → Dropdown for specific character … that is a mess too.

I think the main problem is that on Beta someone would have had to either create or copy over 15+ characters and there aren’t that many Beta realms.
I agree this is … difficult to navigate right now, but should be apparent to anyone that has characters on more than 2 realms that it needs tweaking TSTL.
I’ve been naming my alts all wrong.

You can hover over the character to see the realm, but I 100% agree. I have a myriad of alts scattered across a dozen different servers and seeing them all together now in one list gives me a headache.
Furthermore, it gives you grief if you do not currently have the realm selected that you’re trying to do stuff on. For example, I have been sitting on some character xfers until the day cross-server guilds came out. I finally used them on Tuesday and it kept telling me “This character is on X realm, switch to X realm to proceed” which is just stupid when you have them all in one cumulative list, already able to be selected for transfer.
Also an issue I encountered is that there’s no way to back out of the transfer process once you’re in it, as in the back button doesn’t work/doesn’t exist. Had to close the game entirely to get out of it.
Looks really nice but there’s some functionality issues that make it a little clunky to work with.
Just mouse over the character and it shows the realm.
Yep, I saw that but not very efficient. Would be nice if they could at least replace where the character is at currently ( ie. Stormwind ) with the realm.

It doesn’t do that in the addons window pre-login.
Although, I don’t mess with addons pre-login. I just use Addon Control Panel after I log into a character.
As much as I hated this when it went live and it took me an hour to figure out how not to murder someone over it… I actually like it now. But I only have two characters that have the same name as another. And they’re different classes. So that makes it easier for me.
I did my list alphabetically and split up Horde and Alliance. My brain gave me kudos and stopped yelling at me. So I guess we’re okay now.

Exactly this. Just another example of change for the sake of change and it’s just worse.
I think its better than the OG, but its feels like a rough draft right now.

yea, I’m nearly positive that when I logged in yesterday I flipped myself off from the Warband screen. Was like wth? That’s rude, me.
100% agreed. Seeing every character on the account is nice to have as an option I suppose, but the realm selection at the top of the screen should actually do something and show the characters on that realm.
I do appreciate seeing the little info window showing professions and how much gold on each character.

no reason for any other fix exp reverting to the way the list used to be and add a right click button to favorite or un favorite to that new screen with the 4 toons the way it is now is trash
I’ve been away from WoW for a while and got the new expansion as a gift, so I decided to test the pre patch.
Since I haven’t played for a long time, I don’t remember all the characters I created in each realm. The problem with the new character selection screen is that I haven’t found a way to filter or sort the characters by realm.
I know that if I look one by one, I can see what the character’s realm is, but as I have dozens of characters, this is simply unfeasible. In my opinion, adding a filter and sorting option to the character list is essential.

Agree with you 100%. It’s a nightmare and I hope someone at HQ is working to fix this soon. Personally, I’ve been playing 18 years, have 65 characters on 6 servers that I frequently play. What I did a long time ago was to create a spreadsheet with the name, profession, level, and other details for each server. That spreadsheet is REALLY useful right now.
If you have a lot of characters I suggest to make your life easier just write down their names, server, and importance. That way you can just use the search-bar to quickly find who you want.
Open your WTF folder and look for servers there. there is a folder for every character.
For the Why, everyone playing more then the four characters you can stuff into favorites has this issue. Some people don’t care as much, myself included, but I would still welcome the ability to have a look at my characters by server, like I had it before.
