Character Screen is a mess

But first, what they got right. :point_down:

  1. The Search Bar. A very powerful Tool to have… Not only i can find the name of the characters, but…
  • Class
  • Race
  • Factions
  • Location
  • Levels
  • Professions
  1. Warbands, basically a limited Favorites tab.
  2. The character tab expanded upon to include Gold and Professions.

…Now here’s what they did wrong and what to do to improve it.

1. There's no organization of the characters other then the search bar.

We kind of had a pseudo organization before with realms, but now that seem to be diminished now. I would love there be some sort of way to organize things. Like put the toons in most active/least active, or have like custom groups. Or give us the option to filter by realms.

Maybe have it set who’s the main and such. Maybe set it where the toon can’t be deleted, etc etc.

Filters and groups pretty much.

2. Warbands just being few scrolls away.

There should be a button to quickly shortcut to warbands, or have it be a separate window on top of the main window for chars. As well options to resize either windows here.

3. Search bar needs a bit more.

I think the search bar is powerful enough as it is, but i think it should go further imo.

  • Like searching a specific spec,
  • item it has in their banks
  • gold amount
  • recipes
  • ilvl
  • By realm

4. This is minor but.. the MoP Remix thing is overlapping the Shop button a bit.

5. Character creation screen has pretty big icons. It was kind of fine before imo.

If all else fails, then i suggest to Blizzard to extend the addon support to login screen.

I like the bigger font and icons but mostly the font as I’ve had a helluva time reading stuff in the last year or so.
It’s exhausting.

I think an option to catagorize our characters by realm would be great if they can do that.

I’ve already started doing that without any headers and hope it stays in order but it is time consuming and if it doesn’t stay in order then everything I did today was pointless.

I think I’m just going to wait.

I can’t imagine what you would need the search bar for.

I’m also not sure how people didn’t know what their characters’ professions were?

Yeah, but… I mean, my account probably has a couple dozen, but I don’t want to see them all. That’s why they’re on different realms. Or were.

You can change the scale of the chracter screen. Though I agree that the character screens a bit of a chaotic mess atm, They should have left the addon and menu buttons where they were.

Never under esimate the power of a search bar my friend. :slight_smile:

Oh and guilds, i forgot guilds.

I’ve pretty much been away from WoW Retail’s main mode for like 3 months because of MoP Remix, and been on GTA online for the past month. Having something that reminds me constantly is always handy. Esp since if somebody tells me to hop on my blacksmith, bam, i can see it on my toon screen.

Go into the options and adjust ui scale.

It does, that was the first thing I adjusted when I logged in.

I got 40, but tbh 15 of them I made for MoP remix but I’ll likely delete some or just keep some for transmog. Idk I just wish I could categorize them like a batch for “Main Alts”, “Transmog Alts”, “Randoms” etc…

I have over 60 characters.

i had all my characters listed by level. i logged on: they’re all over the place, higgledy-piggledy.
