I just wanted to get other peoples opinions on what race best suits the names Krieg?
I try to keep my characters names as lore friendly as possible.
Ive had Orc and Dark Iron Dwarf so far suggested.
Dwarven, Human, and Gnome.
Well, if you’re going for lore friendly, Krieg and/or Krieger are of German origin and mean warrior/soldier. Some say the name is also potentially derived from Kriege which means cantankerous. I feel that some names that lean too closely towards IRL names shoehorn you into human. By extension, this would also mean worgen/Kul Tiran, but as Gilneas and Kul Tiras lean towards having British influences, I feel the name doesn’t quite 100% fit for either of them.
I think I COULD see an argument for orcs as the name could come across as sounding orcish, and I suppose I could see dwarves if we’re going with the cantankerous angle and some dwarves can come across as surly. On that note, I’ve got to disagree with Drahliana: cantankerous/surly really don’t fit the vast majority of gnomes at all.
Come to think of it, that might also make it a decent name for goblins.
