Character name problems from past

Some names have corrupted character a long time ago they do not use anymore. i will let the doctors try to do this. They may have a solution.

I just realized your character’s appearance matches the name…that is really funny.

My best guess is that OP is talking about this phenomenon:

Which, AFAIK, happens sometimes when transferring to another server where the name is taken, or maybe in some cases when you’re flagged for a name change? Not sure, don’t think the exact cause is really documented very well anywhere. But the idea is that it’s just a temporary name while you’re flagged for a name change for reasons outside of your control.

I’d imagine if one has a character named in this way and it is NOT flagged for a name change, they could put in a ticket to get it flagged, because I seriously doubt the intent is that you log in with that or have to pay for a real name.

Sorry, even google has no clue what you just typed.

You’ll also get this on a character that hasn’t been played since the great renaming a few years back.

I think anyone who managed to get symbols/corruptions in a name isn’t going to be posting or playing on them anytime soon.

People will report out of spite and poof.

If you have three apples and two pencils how many pancakes can fit on the roof? It’s twenty seven because aliens don’t wear hats.

Obviously you haven’t been probed lately. They most certainly wear hats now.

You can’t log onto a toon with numbers. It will force a change. I think you can get that even if you don’t play two expansions and someone makes a toon with same name and realm. Not sure which doctors deal with name corruption, probably RNG doc.

I wonder if that’s the error you get when you try to log in a character with a name taken due to inactivity, too. Would make sense.
