First death on my level 7 druid: Was in a life and death battle with a level 9 Prairie Stalker and aggroed another level 9 Prairie Stalker, ooops and death.
That was death 1 and I know I’m going to die many more times, especially on a PvP server.
Is there any in-game function or add-on that counts how many times your character has died?
I think I’m up to 5 right about now.
Couple areas had some wonky respawn rates and I got bodied by like 6 mobs at a time.
1 so far, I did not notice 2 other bears in the area when I attacked one. This was before I had bear form. Even with bear form, I doubt I would have survived, I would have ran out of mana healing myself anyway. And if you burn all your mana, no shifty!
1 death on Level 11 Druid. Drowned to spawn at Dun Murogh graveyard so I could get to Stormwind.
10 maybe? 5 of them in a span of 15 minutes trying to kill some gnolls in northern Redridge Mountains. Those sorcerers hit really hard.
Wait until Westfall - double digit deaths in no time.
I am skipping Westfall. Heard too many horror stories.

Srsly is there anyway to know your deaths in game?
I don’t think there is a way other than doing it yourself. I would like to be wrong though.
I’m averaging one death per level so far! 
My lvl 10 lock on herod has died 3 times. All 3 were because I was fighting one thing when multiple other things respawned.
Not sure about any of the other starting areas, but the respawns in tirisfal are freaking BRUTAL.
I stopped counting lol.
Level 7 seems to be when I hit the wall. I’ve got my rogue to level 10 but my poor baby priest is having a tough time at level 7 and so did my rogue.
And those murlocs hit like raid bosses lol. At least I am now familiar with many, many grave sites.
Two deaths.
Was low level, in the Barrens reading through the 12 year olds trolling one another while hunting raptors. A warrior needed help with Verog, whispered me and asked. Decided what the heck, only a game and only live once. Went and helped him out… Pet and myself decided to kamikaze the centaur when his two guards started to take down the warrior who could not keep agg that well.
Was worth it. He got the quest done.
Also shot my 12 silver for repair bills without me asking or expecting.
Other death was because another hunter in RFC thought he was playing BFA and pulled everything. Was nice; he even blamed the level 17 tank and healer for it happening.
So 2 at level 18. That will jump once everyone levels and the WPVP starts.
Think the only way to really count would be to keep track of it yourself sadly.
I wish there was a way to count so that i could try the permadeath challenge lol
More than I can count honestly. Yesterday I was leveling in Pyrewood village and I think we got some respawns while making our way through. It was kind of halarious cuz as soon as I saw it I knew that was it. I might have been able to escape by using sprint but then my group would have been all split up so I just bit the dust next to a Druid. When we rezzed we tried regrouping and died one more time before we finally did lol.
Hell, I died 4 times in the Undercity alone!
I died in Skull Rock too many times to count. Alliance have it easy!
Ameth’Aran in Darkshore was a respawn nightmare! Luckily I was grouped up or it would have been death.
I got very lucky and did not die inside Skull Rock, although it was a close thing more than once (on a BM hunter). Between those damn blueberries and the insane respawn rate, the place is a mess. I laughed out loud when I saw how many skeletons are inside the place.
That said, almost all of my deaths and most of the deaths I have seen happen to others, have been the result of insane respawn rates, especially in enclosed areas. Had a death last night inside the Boulderslide Ravine cave. I could not have been more meticulous about carefully clearing around me to keep myself safe and I still had respawns out of nowhere on three sides at once.
