BFA has been pretty fun and I like a lot about it, but I'm pretty disappointed that Bliz still hasn't added more character customization options. We now have skinny and overweight NPC humans, and some of them are taller, but for some reason our own characters don't have these options. I don't understand why a game with such a large player base can't have more customization. It's not like they don't have the money sitting around to program it into the game.
And if that's somehow too much of an overhaul, there are easier things they could do, too. Things like adding more hairstyles, being able to wear glasses (NPC humans now have this option), having a color pallet for things like eye and hair color, skin tone, and even gear, etc. It doesn't have to be some huge change. I don't know a lot about programming, but it seems like these changes wouldn't be that difficult to make.
I love the game for other reasons and will probably still play it for a while longer, but Bliz is just so far behind most other games that have amazing and advanced character customization options, it's hard to believe they haven't done more to update it. I mean, it doesn't have to be as detailed as the Sims or anything, but it's just so unbelievably basic for such a huge game with so many players. I know most of us would love at least a few of these options. I don't understand why they keep it so simple.

What I find annoying is how some races have a ton of hair styles, faces, and skin tones to choose from while others have 5 or less. I mean WTH?
It's something we'd like to do. TM

Allied races thus far on top of older races that never got updated anything.

And they're all very slightly different shades of the same color. Like white, off-white, and grey white.
Character Customization has always been a weak spot in Blizzard games. Especially in World of Warcraft. We're missing tools that are available in 20 year old games in regards to customization. I don't foresee them adding them any time soon.
What I would like to see:
Hair color chosen from a larger palette.
Eye color separated from face selection.
Height range for each race.
Weight range for each race.
More skin tones.
More faces.
All hair styles available to every race.

I've wanted more character customization options for awhile now. It feels long overdue at this point. I think only humans have an option for piercings and its just for the nose under that option, right? Customization just feels too limited. I hope we see more options in BFA.
I just wish I could have a dangly tongue like my male counterparts :(
I'd be happy just to see some easy things. Like... All elves and humans sharing hair styles. Void elves get tentacles as a separate option. But hair is frelling hair. Why can't we braid it the same?
Why don't all dwarves have the same beard options?
Why can't every race have tattoos?
Why do all gnomes look constipated when they are spell casting?
Why are hair color options race restricted at all? Does no one in WoW know how to make hair dye? We can make alchemical concoctions that melt your skin and raise you as undead but no one has figured out the complexities of Clairol?

This is WoW's biggest issue compared to ather MMORPG's the customization options are simply lacking.
And it feels like they are putting all their eggs of "more customization options" on Allied Races rather than adding more stuff than the races already present.

Agree on all of these. Particularly, WoW has a very limited palette when other games allow for wider a spectrum of color. Not asking for that necessarely, but comparison wise, the cominations you can get are just VERY limited of the options themselves are limited, and just adding more skin tones and and hair colors would be enough.
Eye color separated from the face is a must tbh.
Weigth might be a bit tricky because of the work it would require, but I'm 100% on board with the possibility. Height would be completely doable just by scaling the model.
As for Hairstyles, I do believe some should remain race locked -like VE tendril hairstyles I guess, or some maghar or troll ones, those that really represent more of those races cultures- but indeed there should be a far wider range of "for everyone" hairstyles that every race could use; we already see several hair styles on more than one race, and I think that scome should be the one expanded.
Why can’t we have more character customization options? It’s not like current computer graphics are unable to support such a system. I’d love to see a full color palette for hair colors for all races (Hello? Dyes are a thing!). Allow more variations of skin tones for the available races (why are humans only Caucasian skin tones? Why aren’t there Sandfury troll options? Etc.?). Give us MORE!
