Character Customization wish list

Give me an Orc that has a Kul Tiran Male’s paunch and I will have a Warlock I play for 15 years.

It may have already been stated, but I’m so undeniably happy that they have NATURAL HAIR options like I’ve wanted for YEARS.

Now just more body options as stated above me and we’ll be well on our way to golden, fam.
Maybe the option to replace each limb with a mechanical part, but that’s a favorite trope of mine in fantasy. (Especially since I got the Eberron book).

Fel goblins and fel gnomes I think would be quite awesome as seen here. Though I’d rather something like this be a class extension maybe, but if these become skins then I can at least RP it better

I’d also love to see Gilgoblins and Gilgnomes as a custom option.

Never quite been able to find night elf customization I’m satisfied with. Maybe with a few more faces and hair styles I could.

More body types would be great. Sure this game will never have sliders but that doesn’t mean you couldn’t have 4 to choose from like SWTOR.

Just because I’ve been feeling restless with my characters’ appearances lately:

ALLIANCE
Human:

  • More unique hairstyles and hair textures. I hope to all things holy that the one curly hair they showed during Blizzcon isn’t the only one. I want frizzy curls, thick dreads, choppy pixie-cuts, side-shaves, buzzcuts, and more.
  • A richer diversity of skin tones that don’t go from slightly tanned marshmallow to grainy, pixelated coffee.
  • New earring options.

Dwarf:

  • Beard and stubble options for females. I don’t give a damn that bearded female dwarves were part of the nixed lore books or whatever the hell source it was.
  • A better variety of faces for both genders; dwarves are among the worst to choose from for faces in my opinion.

Night Elf:

  • Give men separate eyebrows. Give men separate eyebrows.
  • Tattoos and markings for both genders. Hell, maybe even convert some of the female face markings for males. Kaldorei society has become less rigid (or the canon has conveniently shifted), so I don’t see why males can’t earn the rite.

Gnome:

  • Hairstyles for both genders that teeter towards zany tastes. Give me more ridiculous beehives and perfect coils.
  • Black skin tones.

Draenei:

  • A wider variety of horns/tendrils/headcrests for both genders.
  • Ear/tendril/tail accessories. Maybe hooves, too!
  • Male faces that aren’t totally angry or increasingly irritated.

Worgen:

  • Mane styles that aren’t braids or random tousled bits. Where are the pompadours or single-curl coifs? The curls and ringlets?
  • More human-eyed faces for male worgen, more colored-eyed faces for female worgen.
  • Piercings.

HORDE
Orc:

  • An option to have shaved head textures beneath basic hairstyles - wasn’t there a preview of the female orc model update with a shaved head (that had a Horde symbol, I think?) coupled with the topknot?
  • Tusk size options.
  • Tattoos/scars - perhaps combined or in the same category.

Undead:

  • Decrepit faces for females; youthful and/or unmarred faces for males.
  • Give male undead eyebrows. Why do they lose them but the females don’t???
  • Asymmetrical skeletal options. What if I just want ONE leggy to be all bone?

Tauren:

  • Everything. Just… everything. More faces, more hair, more fur colors.
  • Tattoos (Highmountains should NOT be the only ones with them).
  • Horn/tail/hoof accessories.

Troll:

  • Honestly, the preview from Blizzcon looking promising enough. But I’ll say this: give them the posture update too.

Blood Elf:

  • Older/austere faces for females.
  • Black skin tones.
  • As a whole, I feel like blood elves rely on basic beauty but lack a whole lot of uniqueness in terms of design. Maybe tattoos? Face markings? Evidence of fel abuse?

Goblin:

  • Hairstyles that aren’t so stylized - simple back-combs, a single braid, things that aren’t explicitly wild and outrageous.
  • Teeth options. Black teeth? Shark teeth? Golden teeth?
  • Asymmetrical ear options; I’d love to have a goblin with one ear lobbed off.

Allied races could have improvements all around, but I have a feeling they won’t mess with them since they’re certainly more… unique than some core races.

As a whole, I want:

  • Youthful/neutral/handsome faces for males.
  • Unique hair textures for all races - give a tauren curls, give an orc dreads.
  • Darker skin tones, for human-adjacent races and otherwise.

My last wish is very, very, very unlikely:

  • The ability to choose between in-game voice actors for your character. There’s only so many times I can handle hearing the female blood elf laugh, as much as I DO love it.

Takin’ manes and kickin’ Nass!

Shamelessly quoting my Night Elf wishlist from another thread.

I’m a simple man, and a simple man needs simple hairstyles.

Simple braided ponytails are a huge love of mine. And I want every race/gender to have a braided ponytail option. I want my gnome gals to have one.

No tails

Tattoos/body paint for every race
Darker skin tones
Leper gnome skins
Broken Draenei skins
More/better hairstyles for worgen and tauren especially
Let female undead have their jaws missing?? obviously
Let Death Kights of any race just have a bare skull for a face. Ive always thought that would be sick
Yep that’s all i could think of for now! Can’t wait for more Shadowlands news

I know it’s kinda petty to be bringing old stuff up but why haven’t blizzard given the dwarves the options to change their clan like the Mag’har orcs can? I mean come on, it would be easy for the other dwarves to be labeled as Clan Dwarves with options like Wildhammer, Dark Iron, the rock dwarfs or snow dwarfs, it would just make sense since the Alliance keeps getting screwed in their allied race choices. (Valajar for alliance allied race 2020).

Other than that I’d generally like to see an increase in small things like tattoos or distinctive markings, given that allied races have options, as few as they are, to pick a particular tattoo or pattern of some sort on their body.

Lastly, though I have to say THIS IS NOT MY OWN ORIGINAL IDEA, I think a cool customization option we could have is the option for ability skins, there’s a video mentioned by either Bellasor or Talieson (I know I spelled one of them wrong) that they go into detail better than I can, but basically it works like a glyph but for your whole roster of abilities to make those abilities fit the particular style of how you would like to use your magic or physical abilities.

Other than those ideas, I would ask for the abilities to color our armors so random set pieces match but meh.

For the record that would be totally rad. Imagine, if you will, a future where dark iron dwarf paladins can go around with fiery abilities instead of silly glowing light.

That’s the idea plus it would make sense for human paladins as well (to an extent anyone really) maybe have your holy priest actually use shadow magic that heals with void magic or a warlock being a necromancer.

Plus the best part, no need for rebalance EVERY spec since it’s only cosmetic.

Hoping NE get eye colors and additional skin tones, some of us haven’t been near the well of eternity in years or dabbled with the arcane, which IIRC has physical ramifications lore wise? I would appreciate having standard blonde/brown/red hair colors as well.

More emotes. Namely of the activity/loitering kind. Lean against wall, reading something, etc. I’m more of an RP-minded player, so greater customization and expression options are my jam.

Voice options would be a nifty bonus on top of all this.

The more advanced customization features I can think of would be allowing us to apply little decorative knick knacks to the character models and adjust placement, rotation, size, color, etc. Things like scabbards, a dagger, pouch, ribbons, bands, etc.

Some degree of face and body morphing would be very nice, at least a small selection like Guild Wars 2 has (crap selection as it is.) I always imagined my Nelf here to be a little more broad shouldered. I’ll, uh… leave chest size customization up to Blizzard.

On the more global level, I’d appreciate being able to transmog any tier of armor regardless of class. By this, I mean my warrior can transmog cloth into other cloth. Plate into cloth would be rad but being realistic here. Also, whites/grays unlocking transmogs. So many vendors around cities that could sell basic starter transmog sets, but nope!

I’d love to have my Legion weapon skins again.
