Anyone create a character, based on RP, but not to actually RP?
Any time i hear the name Bruenor Battlehammer i get a hankering to play a Dwarf. Ive created a few simply from reading the Forgotten Realms.
When Legion came out, while not really having played a Paladin since Wrath but for a small stint in MoP, the idea of being a Holy Warrior running around smiting the Burning Legion with Ashbringer made me play a Paladin.
Absolutely. I’d say most of my characters. I don’t do actual RP but I generally have some kind of fantasy in mind. Maybe some kind of vague backstory.
Perhaps that’d have been a better way to word it. Most of my characters are simply made just so i can enjoy class/spec playstyle.
But a few were made to scratch a fantasy itch
i had a theme/backstory semi planned for this character but alas i’m not good at rp
I tried the whole robot shlick but even the mechanognomes can talk normally. 
Gnomes in general bother me…a mechagnome would be the last thing i ever made lol
Yeah, I think I do this regularly. When I heard void elves were being introduced I race swapped this toon pretty quickly for the theme of it. Becoming an exile for tapping into a forbidden school of magic? Yes, please.
I’m not interested in RP-ing, but I like RP-adjacent things like transmog, housing, mounts, pets, etc.
Oh no, no. I’m not going to push anyone into something they don’t like. 
Yes, I call myself an “RP Lite”.
All my characters have mogs that fit their race, pets that fit, and mounts that fit.
You’d think all my characters were NPCs out in the world.
Also I’m active in PvP, which is something I never see other RPers do.
I play both sides but I’m still gonna do rallying cries and all that.
Basically always “in character”, because it’s more fun that way.
Maybe PvP is the only time I am actively Role-playing.
Yes fan of forgotten realms and pathfinder rpgs. Just about all my characters have some form of a name connected to/slightly altered or taken as whole if possible.
(I have few just names I made og not connected to any fictional characters) I’mnot fan of character names being like Mudboxtineye, Mootastic…
I also do a small back story/head canon on some characters others just go with the flow of game lore.
Forgotten realms about to drop a new update world book in 2025 or so i’ve read new names a coming!

Well imma just take my punny name (originally was Grizzlee as i played Guardian but server changed made me remove an E) and go home!

I usually use song names , makes it fun
I try to RP name all my characters, even though I don’t RP in game (I might do some light RP/RP walk doing something that fits the charactger ((like goofy stuff as a goblin)).
I like to create a lore, a backstory and give an idea to the character I am making. The only thing about wow I dislike is the inability to create names with multiple words. Like a first name and a surname.
In ESO I all my toons have first names and surnames (I stopped playing ESO after their multiclass update, I can’t stand the characters now).

The wife and i like the aesthetics of old maps and what not, and she let me get an enlarged print of Faerûn to add the collection
I find myself occasionally giving my character actual personality traits or behaviors, but no backstory or anything real.
I designed my house around the theme that my dk found an abandoned home and made it their own for their dirty deeds. I don’t actually RP though, and have never RP’d
