Character Creation For Both Factions (SOD PVP servers)

I don’t understand why for a seasonal, experimental experience, we aren’t allowed to create characters of both factions on one server. If you have friends that joined the same server but are of the opposite faction you have no way to play with them, which is exactly what I’m currently going through since neither of us realized it was the case until we both had max level characters. There is no way the negatives outweigh the benefits, I want to play paladin AND shaman, I’m sure there are plenty of players that also would like that. It’s possible in retail and many players came from retail to play SOD as I did and my friends. Can we please get an update on when this will be implemented if at all? Is there anyone else that agrees this would be a net benefit to the community as a whole?

You guys act like “seasonal” means we’re not looking at a year+ experience on these servers.

This isn’t small scale and needs the full server maintenance treatment. “Seasonal” isn’t a free pass to remove any rules that maintain game integrity.

This is like “why can’t I bot? It’s seasonal!”

Maintain game integrity? Would you mind being specific on what integrity limiting this would be? I understand maybe a handful of people could pay to get a few extra pvp kills farmed or SOMETHING along those lines, but for the most part a huge majority of the player base won’t even consider wasting their time doing something so menial. People just want to play the game, and experience SOD. I’m sure plenty of other people also would enjoy at least having the option to play both factions, whether to kill their friends in Open world pvp or to just enjoy the opposite factions specific playable class. Would also open up way more of the playerbase to have more social interactions with the whole other half (in some cases majority) of the server.

you should have been from chaos bolt, they get exclusive access to it on crusader strike

Playing both sides of a war.

If you really care then roll PvE or buy a second account.

I care because I want to play with people I played with in retail, it would literally require me AND my friends to roll to a new server after already developing connections within the community and leveling all the way to max. Playing both sides of a war? Why would it have ever been changed then despite horde and alliance being allowed to be played on the same server for a majority of expansions now at this point while both sides have still been “at war” That’s not a valid argument.

Sucks, reroll.

Very helpful thanks!

No worries!

Maybe CB’s legacy will be that PVP servers can have both factions.

At this point I would be contrarian just to make anything as abrasive as possible. You guys can get both factions on a PvP server when they arbitrarily shut your server down.

So, until then…
