I think this is a good solution, but how is the AH handled? As well as guilds?
I get this but blizz literally said classic was going to be a muesum to vanilla. TBC in not vanilla.
AH could probably just start fresh, though theyâd have to figure out something related to what people had posted and mail they had, since their copying methods usually canât handle that.
Guilds is a good question, because I could easily see trollish sorts grabbing a currently popular guild name, so that people copying over later couldnât get it.
NOTE: I do like the idea, if Blizzard did a direct realm copy such that Mankrik WOW Classic had a dupe called Mankrik TBC Classic created âovernightâ (during a longer maintenance presumably), all names and guilds would be intact. Keeping that 4-week(-ish) delay on opening the portal, but letting players level the new races and professions (in Azeroth only), could work.
I was thinking the mailing of items back as well, but feel preservation of the AH would be nice so people donât have to go back and repost everything.
For guilds, I would think Blizzardâs character database has a guild flag for each player with the necessary data. Perhaps when characters are copied it would automatically carry guild and status. Character Bob is a Raider rank of the guild Flopped Muffin Tops, when Bob transfers he is included as a Raider in Flopped Muffin Tops with his bright pink tabard. As other members transfer, they are defaulted in as well. And perhaps after X amount of days if the GM doesnât transfer, someone is promoted - or an ad hoc GM is assigned until the member with the rank transfers over
The other option they gave was a new lvl 58 toon.
Why is it unfair? That is exactly how it was with TBC launch. If you want the new race/class combo, you have to start at level 1.
In fact, outside of hero classes, it has always been exactly like that. How is it unacceptable?
vanilla - BC was a server upgrade. you want to import a premade character into a fresh server.
Copy with no gold or non-soulbound items, or choice to move with it all imo.
Donât consider it a fresh server. Consider it a server upgrade, with the option to start a new character instead of playing your old character - just like it was in Vanilla.
yea thatâs not how itâs gonna go.
There is no reality in which classic realms do not remain. The whole POINT of classic was to have a âmuseumâ that anyone could visit to see the game in its original state. Forcing all servers in to TBC mode not only completely contradicts this ultimate vision but pisses off a large portion of people who prefer vanilla ⊠IE the exact community who was pushing for it so hard against all the haters before it finally got announced. Iâm not saying there arenât TBC fans but there are and were TBC private servers too prior to classic, and yet the outcry for Blizzard to do TBC servers were not nearly as prevelant.
if thats the only way, im perfectly fine with that, classic is garbo. but im trying to keep the raid logging classic noobs best interest in mind.
Ahh yes, the Alpha Chad Male Orc Warrior thatâs an Elite Gamer.
Vanilla is Vanilla. You will get your TBC servers. But they will be seperate servers.
