Copying my character(s) is NOT the same as boosting a low level character. Copying my character(s) is NOT the same as unlocking a “new” character. Blizz has ALREADY cloned the character(s). Even if you don’t pay for the Copy, the Cloning has ALREADY been done! They’re just charging us to UNLOCK the SAME character(s) of the opposing game version. What that reads (to me) is they “took away” (IK not REALLY, but it KINDA feels like it) our character(s) and charging us to “get them back”
Yes, IK, I get it, TECHNICALLY they’re not, but they still TECHNICALLY are (just in the opposite direction). I just wanted to say these are NOT “new” characters!
Technically, you can (for free) take your progressed character to either remain in Classic or go into BC. Then, whatever you pick, the opposing version of that character gets locked, until you pay to unlock it.
This post isn’t going to stop that. Just like everything else that people fixate on they spam threads until they find something else to worry about. Try not to let it bother you to much, help inform those that are willing to listen but also know that some are just spamming for the sake of spamming.
Appreciate that, but if I want to create a Post about something, I will. Feel free to report it. I’ve seen some changes happen, if spammed enough. Plus, I’m giving more insight on the fact that these are NOT “new” characters. And, for some reason, some (not all) want to preach on how the Character Copies are “new” characters, when they’re not, but I digress.
I only report things if I feel someone is trying to maliciously harm people.
I have just seen people endlessly fight in this forum about one topic or another so I was just trying to give some advice that while it is a good thing, not everyone is willing to listen here.
I’m not new to these forums, either. I’m not up in arms about the Copy to the point I’m threatening to quit. Just sharing my equal disappointment in the decision, and I’m allowed to express my discontent.
The spamming over the 30 dungeons per day change was many times as much as against the clone cost. One thread had a couple thousand replies. And that didn’t change. There’s just not enough outrage over it to get blizzard to even notice.
I get ya and understand. I’m not asking for the fee to be free or anything like that. Maybe, just MAYBE they might make it $30 instead of $35 or add a Bundle Deal of sorts.
There’s REASONABLE requests like that one Server getting Layering turned back on, and the state of WBs. Along with the cries against MBing (not MBing, itself but the program that replicates abilities).
I’m not asking for much. Blizz can afford chopping $5 off what they’re charging.
On a logical level I agree the cost is outrageous, but I just don’t care because I’m not planning to clone any characters. I think that’s the only reason the forum isn’t exploding with anger over it. Almost no one is planning to clone their characters and I think it’s because almost everyone is planning to progress to BC and leave classic behind. That was always the question, will people stick with classic or go to BC? I think the classic servers are going to be more dead than most, and I, thought
I am not planing on copying, because I plan to reroll classic as the opposite faction I am currently playing.
I do think that the cloning cost is a bit steep. $35 per character is high. I think it should be closer to $10 or $15. I don’t think Blizzard is going to make the money they want to off of that $35.
If people have 10 characters per realm and they want to keep playing them on both games, at $35 per character, not a lot of people are going to fork over $350 to do this for all the characters. They might spend $35 on one, and reroll everyone else.
If they have 10 characters per realm and they want to keep playing them on both games, at $10 per character, people are more likely to clone their characters. That would add up to $100 but it would be for all 10, or even $150 if it was $15 per clone.
This would be more $$$ then the $35 they would probably only get for people picking only one character to level at that price, or maybe $70 for the top two favourites. I don’t see many people going over and cloning a lot at the higher price, but if the price was lower I think a lot more people would clone.
Or maybe it’s to discourage people from staying on classic at all? Just a thought.
