Character... Clone?

I would like to try out the Horde (traitor!!!). But I do not want to lose any of my characters, nor do I want to level up and grind all the SL endgame junk again. If there were a service to clone a toon into the opposite faction, would you buy?

I think I can safely predict that something like this would never be implemented.

It’s one thing to clone characters onto PTR or Tournament Realms, but doing so on live servers would…like…completely defeat the purpose of playing the game.

Not personally… I have no need for such a service. After almost 17 years, I have all the characters I need on both factions.

Why? I already played on this toon.

I don’t think I would, no. I can see the appeal though.

If they were to implement it–which is exceedingly unlikely–they could limit it to one every 12 months or so.

Else it could be abused.

Yes, and if you want a different character, you have to actually play that character.

Me with tons of BoEs, crafting, and ilvl

I’m gonna wreck this game’s whole economy.

It would be superfluous once they merge the factions…I mean turn Stormwind in a horde alt depot

They already offer character boosts to skip playing the parts you don’t want to do. So there’s a precedent.

And I’m putting you on ignore because you seem to want to control how other people enjoy the game :slightly_smiling_face:

So like even gear gets copied over? No way in hell that’s gonna happen.

lol…

Of all the reasons to brag about putting someone on ignore, that has to be one of the most pathetic I’ve heard. Kudos.

You can ignore people all you like, but a cloning service goes against the principles of WoW (play your character), and the idea that engagement metrics are more important than one-time charges for cloning and such.

See also above, the person who would clone their characters and wreck the economy. People would do that, sometimes with malice, sometimes incidentally.

Get the heirlooms (they’re BoA), get the character boost, and just do it over again. Now that you know where everything is, and how all the dungeons work, it should go a lot faster. (But wait for 9.1.5, when you get the Maw skip as well. Because you probably don’t want to do that again.)

No i would not.

Limit cloning to once per account ever, all items in bags become soulbound, and no gold can be transferred.
