Have you tried logging out of the forums completely and logging back in? Might have to do this a couple of times.
It’s affecting me as well. Forum software is broken. Blizzard needs to scrap it and change software in my opinion. Last this this happened I had no posting character for over 2 weeks.
There seems to be a issue going on with posting characters id suggest editing and moving this to the website bug forums.

Yep got me as well. I was posting on Purrseeker, a retail toon like 5-10 min ago and when I came back, it forced me to post on a Classic toon and only my Classic ones are available to post from.
Hopefully it gets fixed!
There is already a thread there. Cancelled my subscription as well due to all of the bugs in-game and on these Forums.
I hope it doesn’t last long.
