Character boost on sale but Blizzard offers no buyer protection

So the character boosts are now on sale @ 33% off. Typically I bought a character boost just last week!

Emailed Blizzard Customer Support to see if they offered any sort of buyer protection, ie refunding the difference in price since it’s only been a week, but no. “Digital sales are final” they say. How else do you buy a Character boost except digitally?!

I’ve been playing games a long time and have had dealings with many developers who offer buyer protection for situations such as this. It’s a sad state of affairs when a major developer such as Blizzard won’t look after their players in the same way.

No. The company listed a product at a price and you accepted the price. Just because the company later decided to offer the product at a reduced price doesn’t entitle you to a refund.

You wanted it there and then and got it there and then.

Much different experience than I had which makes me assume there’s more to the issue than that but–

I actually bought a few pets and mounts as gifts for friends about two days before the sale came up so, I decided to open a ticket to see if anything could be done about it. They actually compensated the difference in cost in game time on my account (which amounted to about 45 days).

So, they definitely do something if it’s within the timeframe of a few days. They’re usually pretty good about that. A week though might be a bit much.

TBH, when I saw the character boost on sale, my first thought was something must be going wrong, I don’t think Blizz has ever put the boost on sale before.

Except some companies do have a buyer protection scheme in place and I was expressing my surprise that Blizzard do not.

In my past dealings with other companies (and my own company’s practices) it’s typically a week that’s considered to be an acceptable cutoff for buyer protection.

Except there are companies that do offer buyer protection so it’s not entitlement to ask such a thing.
