Char transfer to WoW:Remix - MoP

Can we at least get one/a few char(s) leveled down and transferred to the event?

I REALLY do not want any more new characters (at least not with the current classes), and I think creating one for the event, leveling, gearing them, only to delete them in the end feels really bad.

I wouldn’t even mind to get them off retail for a while, and it would be a great excuse to use some of my characters who are collecting dust atm.

  • Create a new WoW Remix character starting at level 10 to adventure through the event up to level 70.

It doesn’t appear that you can use an existing character. Why not just play a Remix character and have it on a different server when the event is over? They are adding more character slots so you don’t have to worry about having to delete a character to make room.

More than 13 characters (one per class) is pointless to me.
But yes, that’s the plan for now.

Might use it as a faux realm transfer, but deleting the character is more likely.

Think of it as a way to make another evoker. LOL

ehhh… one is enough.

Setting up my UI and settings again, not looking forward to it. It’s sounds like a glorified timewalking event.

Evokers in Pandaria?

Blizzard is trying to create some kind of bridge between Classic and Retail so they can sell Warthin to the two million people who started playing with SoD and it just… doesn’t work. I don’t get it, Pandaria of all expansions to run this little experiment with. SMH.

Actually my thought on the evoker was that once his character was high enough level and placed on a different realm, he could just make another evoker… not an evoker in Pandaria. That would just be … wrong!!

stop that

As least it’s not as bad as “Plorm” for PLunderstORM.

When the bar is that low, another one that’s under slightly less dirt is hardly worth celebrating.

If the event isn’t for you, it isn’t for you. Why not just accept it for what it is, and play it or not?

This is clearly an attempt to pull in lapsed players, because they outnumber active players by about threefold.

IMO retail WoW lifers really shouldn’t be Blizzard’s target demographic for new content. The game has been stale and choked out by them catering to a niche community at the cost of the broader gaming ecosystem at large. MoP Remix’s low barrier to entry and the characters converting to level capped retail characters makes it a fantastic place for a returning player, or an existing players looking to level an alt or new main.

If Blizzard had opted to continue to cater to existing players that only play WoW, the game would be bleeding out with no foreseeable end. There needs to be more events that pull new and lapsed players into the game. MoP remix is a great start, and there’s plenty of evergreen progression to be made in this server for existing players.

What use is there is gaining new players if it implies in losing old ones?
And what’s more likely, a returning player or a current player sticking to the game?

The correct approach is always to try and reach BOTH demographics, not just one.

Remix is pretty much a Beta/PTR with some lasting rewards.

I stopped playing Betas/PTR because I don’t like working twice for the same end results (mogs, story or power) and having my bug feedback completely ignored.

Also, don’t get me wrong, I like remix, but it could have been much better, that’s the feedback I’m giving here: I’ll play it and then delete the character, but if you’d just let me use my current characters, I’d be happier.

And I get it that this is pretty much bait for lapsed players: a chance to level a ton of characters to cap fast while gaining a few extra perks.

But if the gameplay loop is the same by the end, I don’t doubt they will just leave again.

I have 69 toons on 6 accounts, about 50 healers) and have 0 interest in rolling any more new toons.

I did roll 1 new toon a few days ago to try out Remix. What I really want to do is go back and fill in some of the group-related content that I missed and can’t easily solo.
