Character gets Feared and after cannot regain proper directional control of character to move in correct direction and instead move in almost any directional arc other than the intended direction
What game version are you playing on?
If it is Retail, there has been a bug with keyboard turning. To correct this you can type /console turnspeed 180. You can also right-click your mouse while moving to control the direction very precisely.
