Chaos Bolt Glyphs:

So some people in the past have asked me, what I mean by “Chaos Bolt Glyphs”. Well this is what I mean. Made these two variants with a palette swap in under 30 seconds. If you like them, upvote and keep at it. If Rogues can have 4 new versions of their pistol shot, it’s not unreasonable for Warlocks to get something like this at the very least.

Here’s a Red Version / Sargeras Sword / Antorus themed. ht tps://ibb.co/DQXHLgk
Here’s a version for people who like shadow spells a bit more. ht tps ://ibb.co/Wz0TMSw

Hope you enjoy it! Please comment if you do. I am curious on Warlocks thoughts on it. :eyes:

They wont even give us a new shad bolt, even worse no glyphs to use the old one. They certainly wont be doing cb anytime soon.

I love the shadow variant!

I’d like to see what Hand of Gul’dan would look like with a palette swap to make it look more like its icon. (hot pink instead of fel green)

Wish we had more customization for our spells tbh. They’re so strict on the “philosophy” of everything having to look a certain way so it’s readable in PvP. Which is such a lazy excuse.

Oooh that shadow one is calling to me

Ugh if only

I think a combination of shadow and Fel would look really cool too

Anyone who can’t see the only difference is the color of the spell (which already is done to opposing PVP spells being tinted red), is simply not a good PVPer. Likewise any Developer who is fighting such small requests on the basis of it must look a certain way (Chaos Bolt is exactly the same, all that I did was a color change) is just trying to duck out of work; while giving Mages and other classes new effects.

These concepts are literally no different than Crackling Tiger, Ox, or Crane Lightning.

Speaking of… I genuinely pity Monks. They need a massive visual overhaul. So do Warlocks.

Warlocks also need their ‘real’ idle spell-casting pose.

I love this, wish we had this implemented.

But with a bunch of class designers and developers who doesn’t even play this game let alone fix the class I doubt any of this kind of change will ever come.

But yes I’ve wanted more variants like this in Lock spells.

Well then don’t let this thread poof guys. Spread word, make suggestions of it on B-Net. In short keep talking about it until finally some Developer decides to make two (or more) glyphs by putting in the basic effort of turning a palette wheel at the PC.

I don’t have anything original to say here, but this post (and thread) makes me happy.

Now, if they could just listen… :crossed_fingers:

I miss the old Shadowbolt. I used to zoom my camera out and turn it around so the purple skull would fly right into the screen.

Yeah the current shadowbolt visual is atrocious. I think is worst off due to that weird curve it does.

But that may be cause the spell just visually looks very unappealing.

These look great. It continues to surprise me how Blizzard doesn’t do stuff like this… the glyph system is already there. Just give each spell in the game 2-3 variants and you have basically designed worthwhile cosmetic rewards players are going to go to the ends of the earth to collect for an entire expansion.

Blizzard seems to love more than anything passing over a bunch of low effort Ws in favor of chasing down higher effort Ls… though at least since DF, they haven’t been as bad about it.

Exactly.
The black skull is what makes the spell so appealing. It was dark, scary, and menacing. Thus whole push for the purple garbo just ruins it. The sparkle stuff just makes it embarrassing.

Wish we could have a shadowflame chaos bolt

Not just a Shadowflame Chaos Bolt, which is an excellent idea; but why not a variant for Channel Demonfire that employed the Aberrus Tier spell effect? That would look amazing too. Shamans just got a significant visual overhaul as did Mages. I reckon Warlocks are due for one too. Same with Monks.

I really miss the old chaos bolt model,a glyph for the old chaos bolt would be a good idea as well

I agree. Would be nice for people who liked that version too.

Everyone wants more glyphs from old chaos bolt graphics to old shadow bolts, etc… it lets us feel good about our char. Blizz hates giving thst agency, however.

It sure seems like at times that they hate doing anything work related. I know OBVIOUSLY that is not the case, but there are times that the wait or the delay can become ponderous or outright damaging to the experiences of the player.

Case in point, I am STILL waiting after a month for them to fix a issue they caused with my Shaman because I bought a rename. That’s all. I bought a rename for my Shaman, and it didn’t go through. Well for the sake of full disclosure it did… in a sense. It ate the name service token, but it didn’t rename the character. Instead it posted a “Error” message by the character.

This has happened twice to me. Once on my Paladin, once on my Shaman.

With the Paladin, it just fouled up in a glitch of some form. I didn’t get an error message; but before they would refund the missing in action name that wasn’t used, I was forced to wait, with the name I desired deleted.

…Unfortunately while waiting a week for the “name” to clear, another player took the name and the GMs refused to restore that name to me, so I had to name my Paladin something else. The player who got the name was someone I knew and who took the name for less than savory reasons.

That player still has that name to this day and bragged about the theft on their social media. Blizzard couldn’t fix it. The player had claimed it legitimately when it was freed, even though the only reason it was free; was because I’d done what the GM proscribed and kept the name deleted to see if the naming service took.

The Shaman? That one was identical to the issue I have now, complete with an error icon next to the character. In this case, the issue plagued me for a lot of MoP as I recall, specifically in the period mid-late Siege of Orgrimmar. The final fix involved me losing the Shaman, Blizzard permanently deleting it; and then furnishing a nearly identical one to me. Thanks to all of that, I lost all opportunity to rescore a couple time-sensitive because the GMs delayed so much. The “New Shaman” became my main for WoD and I’ve played it pretty reliably since.

…Well. Until now when the issue has returned.

I’ve made four separate tickets on it, and now they just throw it into a holding queue to fix “soon” or sometime before the end of time. Maybe. Either way, because of the massive amount of time I’ve waited, I have taken about 55 screenshots now, to document this entire affair, complete with timestamps on the screenshot.

On a lighter note, they updated the error code’s graphic, giving my Shaman a different gear icon by their name.

Progress?

Blizzard reminds me of the Veterans Administration (for Americans), and if anyone knows what i am talking about you know why thats funny.
Essentially its boils down to instead of fixing the problem and providing better agency, they just layer on the bs and say “see! We are helping!”

…Heh… My grandfather used to speak the exact same way about that agency. I know exactly what your talking about.
