Was wondering how often any of you change or swap around UI’s? I find myself liking one setup then it either becomes boring to me or I just wanna look at something new… Recently I was using ToxiUI and while it was nice to have I’m not really a big fan of Elvui.
Most of it has to do and while it’s nice having everything compiled into one I just can’t seem to figure it all out and it seems like I have to do a complete investigation how to change what I want for my liking as compared to setting up my own.
It mostly has to do with having all the bags into one. Anyways trying to get away from Elvui so when I run into problems I think or at least hope they’ll be easier for me to find out which addon by itself is causing a problem.
Since around the past month… I’ve changed my UI all together around 7 times?
I used to not change it and then this expansion i decided i wanted easier access to more information
I’ve had 4 or 5 major UI and keybind redesigns since SL started. I don’t think i’ll ever be content tbh, but theres only so many ways addons can be positioned on a screen lol
Most people i know fiddle with their UI every so often
The UI modifier addons i use are bartender and easyframes, and plater if that counts. Everything else is gameplay related
Yeah right now I’m using Bartender with Plater along with a few other one’s and it seems to be working for me. Trying out default unit frames for right now with mouse over macros.
I use ElvUI and the default UI with a few smaller addons often going back and forth. Sometimes I feel like ElvUI has too much going on and I like the simplicity of the base UI. I can’t wait for the updates to the base UI. I want to get rid of as many addons as possible.
That’s what I’m trying to do. Trying to avoid mostly the addon packages while making looking something look nice for me.
I prefer the current UI. Easier for me to manage, doesn’t give me any problems. The new ui coming im concerned is going to screw me up. Im a clicker, always have been due to how comfortable it is for me. The new ui may screw that up.

I fiddled in BfA, I changed almost nothing in SL except now I bind the tilde and escape keys to stuff I use in combat because they’re comfortable binds.
If the addon[s] allow for in-depth customization, I tend to take hours setting it up how I want it, with minor adjustments for the next couple weeks as I bump into issues playing on different characters in different content.
So because of that, I’m not particularly willing to swap multiple times in a short span. Frankly, I’ve gotten lazy and there are issues with my current setup that I haven’t even bothered to fix.
But I do like to look at something different every now and again. So… maybe I’ll have 2 different major UI changes in a given season/major patch? No more than that.
There is a learning curve to Elvui, but because it’s so comprehensive in the addons it eliminates I don’t see using anything else - me, personally - just sayin’.
But I wouldn’t sweat your UI changes - you’re just trying to figure out what works for you.
