Changing the BG scoreboard. WHY?

Why change the bg scoreboard at all?

It used to be all centered in the middle of the screen and easily read.
Now the names are on the far left and there’s 5 inches of nothing in between the stats. My eyes have to flip back and forth like a democratic presidential candidate. Killing blows aren’t even next to deaths anymore. The majority of dps only care about those metrics anyways. Who even cares about honorable kills? Why even measure those at all? Why change something that accomplishes nothing? Didn’t you have layoffs recently? I feel like you forgot to get rid of some of the other useless employees who make useless decisions.

The new scoreboard burns my retinas - it’s like if someone turned cancer into a jpg

Honorable kills were always shown. But yea not a huge fan of the change.

Anyone have a screenshot?

Lol tbh it looks like crap.

In a weird way it reminds me of the classic scoreboard. I just don’t understand why…

Out of all the stuff people complain about you fix something no one complained about…

It honestly seems like with this and the art on a lot of the armor this xpac that they did take your child to work day and really liked the 2nd grade artwork so they hired the kids for the design team.

I wish this was the reason, it would at least make some sense… it’s just odd lol like I can’t express it enough that I just don’t understand why they do stuff like this…

What I don’t like at all is that my personal text is all in white. Yellow was such an easier color to pickout from the rest of the scoreboard.

Also, I don’t see any honor gained numbers anymore so they essentially pruned that from the board, which was nice to see before.

It also looks…Smaller? Like, the big boarder around the edged used to be filled with extra room for more player information. Now I have to scroll even more to see everything.

Something that wasn’t broken was fixed to the point that it’s now broken. GG Blizz.

Same with moonkins or resto in bear not being able to moonfire/soothe/remove corruption. It didn’t break the game. Now it’s just annoying to have to shift back.

Yea I just instantly close it now, I don’t even bother reading it. It’s ugly af.

Pretty much a metaphor for development of this game in general. Break what didn’t need fixing, change things nobody complained about, implement poorly thought-out changes nobody wants.

…all while ignoring most legitimate issues people are screaming about like monstrous class imbalances, excessively RNG loot systems and the crappy Azerite system.

God yes. The old scoreboard was so much better.

Truth.

This is the more politically correct scoreboard.

Actually, it is easier to see your own stats now as the entire row is white for your stats alone. The old one had everyone’s stats the same colour including yours. I like the stats font colour changes.

As for the honour gained, I am not sure why that has been removed. Possibly an oversight, or possibly intentionally down-playing that stat. Sadly, with no PvP vendors I don’t care about honour anymore, so this change doesn’t impact me at all.

Yeah, this is an odd change, the ‘footer’ at the bottom takes up space that was once used to show 4 more rows of stats. “New BG scoreboard now with 20% Less information!”

Could be wrong but the new design strikes me as a transition state that sits between the old design and the ultimate final design. I’d bet that there’s more extensive changes coming in future patches.

it would be better if they just revert it altogether. nobody asked for this to be changed and the new design is just :poop:

they literally took something that worked fine(for over a decade) and made it worse, if that is a stepping stone i don’t like where this design is heading. report the designer afk pls.

It’s not terrible, but I don’t like the empty space between names and stats

People going for the PvP essences are going to have to care about honor. I think they’re trying to downplay honor as an account-wide cumulative thing so it can also serve (badly) as a currency to earn essence unlocks on individual characters.

At my honor level I can’t imagine grinding out more. Good job, Blizz. The honor system wasn’t sufficiently demotivating as it was.

This is true too. And the difference between Alliance and Horde honor can be pretty massive.
