Different talents, trinkets, weapons with different stats, PVP gear, enchants, it can all make a difference depending on what content you are doing and what boss you are facing, so why can’t we place a different talent setup to match our gear?
you can, just make armor sets with the same name as your talent set and swap sets when you swap gear.
That would be so convenient, I hope they do it! Loving their implementation of loadouts so far. This is especially helpful now that everybody who does pve and pvp will have both.
Why don’t they just implement what addons already do? They are almost all the way there already, BTWLoadouts just exactly what I want, which is change action bars, talents and gear all at the same time. The only thing missing from the default UI is to change gear at the same time.
Use a macro.
/equipset setname
/loadoutname loadname
/lon loadname
Just change the names(in bold) to your load names and set names
wow, I didn’t even know you could macro equipment manager saves. that just made my stepup a lot better.
You should know that’s not a good idea for monks, we already don’t have room on our action bars as it is. It is a good idea, but it would be nice if they added it in instead of having to rely on other means.
If you assign a keybind, the action bar doesn’t need to be visible. Make it small and hidden along the edge of the screen where it is out of the way. Then just hit your keybind to change.
Sure, but it feels like Blizzard didn’t anticipate players having alternate gear for alternate means or they would have thought of this.
Blizzard has always developed following an 80/20 rule. 80% of players will use 20% of the features. So you focus on that 20% and outliers have to come up with other solutions. That is where addons come in.
Lol ok so you’re just determined to whine and not actually looking for a solution, got it.
Ps. Monks do not have that many buttons lmao.
It was supposed to be a joke, did you even read everything I wrote? No, because you would have seen this part:
But since you can’t take one let me tell you, we have 34+ buttons already, just spells, nothing else. If I built my talents different I could expand that to some 37-38 buttons easy. Add in things like goblin gliders, nitro boosts, hearhtstones and teleport options, mounts, pets, I even use Opie to minimise how much stuff I have on my action bars and I STILL have 5 full action bars.
Without already using addons and macros, if I just put all my stuff on my bars I could easily get 7-8 full action bars of stuff I use regularly.
Get the FlyoutButton Custom addon and create your own flyouts for non-combat stuff.
It has saved me SO MUCH bar space.
Tried that one, personally I prefer Opie, same same just looks different. Thinking actually of re-installing BTWLoadouts, it just does everything I need better than using the default UI, but isn’t that supposed to be the point of the new UI, to not use addons?
Like all these solutions and addons just for one simple request, add the ability to combine a gear set with your talent loadout.
Go into WoW. Hit the C and on the right hand side of the character panel next to titles is Equipment Manager. If you have never used this before there will be an option to create a new set. Put your offspec gear on and create a set named something like “MW monk, pvp” or “MW monk pve” and if you scroll almost to the bottom you can find icons that fit the monk look, so pick a nice icon. Save the set. Now do the same for your main spec with that gear and when you change spec’s you can go into the Equipment manager, find the proper set and equip it to now quickly swap into your gear for the other spec.
This feature has been in the game for many years.
You can even transmog a different look for the other set that will instantly swap to that transmog when you use the equipment manager to put the gear on when you create a transmog that is specific to that spec, even if some of the gear is the same piece as your other spec it will still change when you change the spec
What gear set did you think I wanted added to the talent loadout?
They are so far from that goal it ain’t even funny.
I don’t know. I just randomly thought of some likely offspec to create an example for the point I was making. I didn’t mean to come off as if I knew what set of gear you had in mind, because I don’t.
I think you can already do this, to a point. I have a blood spec and a frost spec on my dk, and I just used the Equipment Manager in the character window and the options for each gear set to assign a spec to each gear set I’d made. Then when I change specs, the appropriate gear is equipped.
This doesn’t work if you have two different talent loadouts for one spec though, so if that’s what you want then yes, would be nice if Blizzard added a way to link talent loadouts and gear sets from the talent screen.
I use this for my setups and it works pretty well.
