I feel like I picked the wrong 2 professions to start with in DF and so I am going to change them. I am wondering what happens to the knowledge on the two I currently have? Is it lost completely or does it stay there in case I ever swap back to them?
It’s pretty much lost. In a few expansions you acquired certain recipes via quests; if you decide later to relearn the profession there are tomes you can buy that will restore those specific recipes if you had already done the quests (since you can’t repeat the quests). But aside from that, you’re starting over from scratch.
Oh well. At least I didn’t get too far into it before I realized I chose poorly lol
there really is no poor profession this expansion - which do you figure are bad?
The wowhead guide states that knowledge points stay even if you drop and reacquire the profession (mainly mentioned for those who think they could respec their points easily). I’m guessing you would lose any individual recipes you might’ve looted, that aren’t part of what the trainer offers, though.
Well I meant I picked the wrong 2 professions for me not that I picked bad ones. I wanted to swap to leatherworking so I could craft the mail armor myself instead of paying someone else to do it lol
I am doubtful that will be cheaper. Most people are just giving other 1000 gold commissions. You can’t level up lw for that.
