Changing Newcomer Chat channel

For some reason Newcomer chat has defaulted to /1 making gen /2, trade /3 etc. needless to say after over a decade of having those other chats /1 /2 I’ll never get used to it so how do you change the number of the chat? at this point I can’t even leave the newcomer chat

You can’t leave newcomer chat till you reached 30 hours of playing time on that character

Oh, then go to this npc in orgrimmar to turn it off

Never played horde but she’s somewhere around the allied race stuff

Anyways you can’t change the number by leaving it and joining back, you could however, redo your chat stuff by leaving general, trade and looking for group chats

Then manually join each one back in

Then join back newcomer chat and it should be /5 I believe

So that will explain the random cussing out by murlocs in /7

It’s my favorite chat by far… I must say “Who are you talking to?” like 20 times a day.

Did they fix the issue where starter accounts could contribute to but couldn’t see the newcomer chat?

Turn guide mode off, manually /leave every global channel, then /join them again in the desired order, then turn guide mode back on if you want. They should stay put after that.
