Hi ! As the title says, I’d like to change the languages of my titles, basically my game is in french, but it’s hard to sell things on the trade chat with french links, is there a thing I can change in my wow settings or in the files to make so my game stays most likely in french but my links becomes english ? I don’t want to switch the voices of the characters as I’ve been playing since my first time only in french.
Go to options, system, languages. Should let you change. Mine only shows Latin American languages in addition to English, but I’d assume English would be an option anywhere. I think you can keep the voices in french. Just did some looking in game, I don’t have your build (no french option) so I couldn’t test it.
There isn’t anything you can do to make just links be in English and the rest in French. The closest you can get (as far as I’m aware) is to turn audio into French and text into English. I get wanting links to be in English, though for other reasons. So:

Edit: I tried this myself. I tried putting spoken language in English and text language in German, and that worked. But when trying spoken language in German and text language in English, everything was in English. I’m not sure if my solution works, actually.
Edit 2: Tried text language in English again, and spoken language in French. Same result as with German, it didn’t do anything. So unless this is just not working for me, the solution I gave is ineffective.
So OP, it looks like to get your links in English, everything has to be in English. So if you want to play in French, you have to deal with French links. It’s possible this might just not be working for me, though. And there also might be an addon to deal with it. But from what I’m finding, it’s either all English or all French/German.
Hi Lunathel, I have exactly the same issue as you, and I developed a small addon named BetterShift to solve that problem.

Currently, it is only working in Classic and TBC. But it is extremely easy to make it work on retail WOW. Let me know if you still need this function. I can build a retail version for you!
