Changing ICC Dificulty

Hi, after getting locked on normal 25 man on ICC, and sharing that lock, my other toon cant change difficulty to 25 heroic on ICC. Any tips?

Same, having this issue right now and I’m honestly praying it’s a bug. I’m at 250 attempts for this horse and having to clear the entire raid on all of my toons will literally kill me.

Yup same problem here. The toon i used for the lock out can not change to H either from 25 Normal.

Dont even joke about that, im on more attempts yet

Can confirm the issue is still present after the maintenance this morning.

Can confirm, ICC difficulty cannot be changed.

Having the same issue this morning.

I also tried to switch to Heroic outside of the instance. It gave me “You are ineligible to participate in at least one encounter in this instance because you are already locked to an instance in which it has been defeated.” chat message when I tried to enter the instance on heroic after clearing 11/12 on normal.

i was working on Ritualist Who achiv in ToT and because of this new change cannot reset the raid trash so i have to wait potentially weeks for this last achiv to get mount
sigh pretty sad move blizz if not a bug

Same over here, hope they fix it

Yep same. I am praying they have not destroyed the lockout for ICC. I have been trying for years and using the same lockout on an alt to run 8 toons through every damn week and I do NOT want to be forced to run it individually every week again :frowning:

From my testing it appears all 4 difficulties are sharing the same lockout. if you kill a boss on 10N you cant even zone into the other 3 options and vice versa.

Mount farming aside, it doesnt seem like this is intended for instances with 10/25 options

This is a real crappy move. I can deal with delaying an xpac, but doing this to us is a low blow

Think the best you can hope for is for each difficulty to be a separate lockout. These older raids use a difficulty system that doesn’t even exist anymore, so it’s unlikely that it’s ever going to return to the technically bugged state it’s been in for years now.

What I mean is that technically, you never should have been able to do this for LK in the first place. He originally required that you clear the end boss of each wing on heroic in order to fight him at all. It’s been unintentionally bugged for as long as you’ve been able to clear the instance on normal and still fight him on heroic, nevermind the lockout sharing that’s been going on.

Either Revert it or Convert everything to a Boss only lockout like what we got now so farming could be quicker if we wanted to I mean they basically killed old raid gold farming might as well

I’m still mystified why there’s only one lockout among all four difficulties of ICC.

I believe every other raid from WotLK, Cata, and MoP functions the same as ICC. Some don’t have an option for heroic and are only doable on ‘normal’, but all of them have 10/25 options but can still only be cleared once per week.

The two exceptions are Firelands, which has been doable on both normal and heroic each week ever since it was added as a Timewalking raid, and Siege of Orgrimmar, which is the first raid to use the current lockout system of being clearable on all difficulties each week.

Originally, WotLK raids could be cleared on both raid sizes each week, but this changed leading up to Cata to be consistent with the new ‘one lockout’ system Blizz would be using for the next two expansions.

Don’t mean to necro but I really want to know if they’re actually going to leave this unintended change like this or not.

Kind of a buzzkill

I’ve been sharing my lockout with my alts throughout SL, though the change to switching between normal/heroic while in the dungeon requires a different approach.

First, I clear up to LK on heroic (not sure if you can on normal using this method, but I’ll try tonight and update if possible).

Second, join the raid group with an alt. Wait for the lead to pass from the toon that cleared over to the alt.

Third, change the difficulty to Normal and enter ICC. Accept the lockout upon entering.

Fourth, exit ICC and change the difficulty to Heroic. Re-enter ICC and you should have another lockout pop-up. Accept and proceed to farm for the mount.

You can do this across all of your alts, been working for me just fine (except the part where Invincible actually drops).

I am having difficulty with your approach, When I have my alt obtain lead of the raid, change it to normal, and step inside. While inside ICC automatically becomes heroic, and I get the prompt to accept or decline ICC heroic not normal.
