Changing Engineering spec (Retail)?

I want to complete the craftable Engineer mounts and noticed that to learn the Depleted-Kyparium Rocket I need to be a Goblin Engineer (I’m Gnomish).

I searched and all information I found about changing the spec is way old. For example, a lot of sites mention that you could switch specs for 150g with a book… but that was back in WOtLK and now when clicking said book a message says that “its pages have been destroyed”

Is there any way to switch spec that does NOT involve ditching Engineering entirely and having to level it all over again? I have maxed the Engineering levels up until Legion (because Kul Tiran Eng. was so crappy…) and it wouldn’t be fun to start all over =C

The Eng trainers in Stormwind/Orgrimmar (and possibly others) have a dialog option to unlearn your current specialization. I think you’ll then get access to the specialization quests again from the trainer. (I’m not going to unlearn my specialization just to test, though.)

I right click on Lilliam Sparkspindle (the only Eng trainer in SW) and the “recipe learn” window pops up immediately, there’s no previous dialog options :frowning:
The closest NPC with a “dialog bubble” icon is Sprite Jumpsprocket, and she only says “Ah, what a beautiful day to blow something up!”

In your profession book there is a red circle with a diagonal line through the center next to the engineering specialization. You can click on that to unlearn the specialization. I then presume that you can go to the engineering area in Stormwind/Orgrimmar and they will have the quests available and you can work on the Goblin Engineering one.

The dialog says “Do you want to unlearn Engineering, and lose all associated recipes?”. Doesn’t mention anything about unlearning just the specialization

This is how my profession book looks. There’s no icon next to Gnomish Engineer:

EDIT: AAA I’M BLIND. I JUST SAW THE BUTTON. I had stared many times to the window and hadn’t seen it. Thanks a lot!
