Changing DPS spec reset my blitz rating

I’m a long time RBGer, 2400+ multiple xpacs…

So I grinded through the muck that is the blitz MMR system… currently sitting at 2200 as unholy. Swapped to frost and I’ve got to start this grind from 0 rating…? I’ve found myself not playing this game the past 2 months because of it. I think it’s pretty absurd to reset someone’s rating if they’re swapping DPS specs. DPS/Healer/Tank I would understand, as your role is changing. But… I still haven’t found the will power to get on WoW anymore to climb through the low ratings again just because I swapped specs. Just saying- I’m not alone on this after talking with some btag buddies.

That’s how rated solo queue works since Sl mate?

If you swap back to unholy you’ll be 2400 again. Solo queue rating is spec independent in both solo and blitz

Your unholy rating was not reset. Your frost rating was not earned yet. That’s all. If you change back to unholy, bam, there’s your rating.

If players on marksmanship hunter were able to climb rating when it was good and then got to switch to beatsmastery hunter when that was god mode with class wide rating, there would maybe be 3500cr hunters walking around.

The reverse can also be true. Where a hunter that was playing marshanship and doing well, just decides to play survival, and now he’s on your team on a spec he doesn’t know in a high rating match. Wearing stats that aren’t ideal without his keybinds memorized ect. Proving to the game and everyone else around you that you can be a 2500 MMR MM Hunter does not prove to the game and everyone around you that you’re a 2500 MMR quality survival hunter. It might not seem user friendly or time efficient, but there’s a reason for spec specific MMR.
